you know things are going bad when...

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - A prominent conservative and campaign adviser for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has voted for Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) by absentee ballot, according to The New Republic.

Charles Fried, a Harvard Law School professor and Reagan appointee, announced in a letter to the McCain campaign this week that he had voted for Obama primarily because of "the choice of Sarah Palin at a time of deep national crisis." He asked the campaign to remove his name from the campaign committees he serves.

Fried's support for Obama comes the same week as the endorsement of former Secretary of State Colin Powell, who became the first African-American secretary of state under President George W. Bush, for the Illinois Democrat.

Man Palin is like a lead weight for McCain. Just dragging him down further and further and further. This will go down in history as one of THE worst VP choices in the history of America.

It's ironic that 2 of the 3 on his short list would've really made him competitive.

- Romney. A Mass. elite who has the media reputation as an economy genius. McCain could've fought on the big issue of the day.

- Ridge. PA (my hometown boy) guy who wouldn't have undercut the experience card, would've helped the economy fight, and certainly would've helped in the keystone state (where they're banking their entire campaign on now).

- Lieberman. He still would've been fcked.

Instead, ..... Sarah Palin? Good job Johnnie boy.

"Thank God she's not going to have to be president from Day One."

What I love about this is how the Hard Righties are all a quiver about the possibilities of Palin in the future. Ha!

I think if he picked romney i would have voted for him and prayed for him to kick the bucket.

Don't think I could honestly vote for the guy.

As much as I hate to so I am voting for Obama just because no third party candidate made it on the ballot.

This is what scares everyone about a Palin presidency, except for the religious conservatives.

I disagree this seems to be a man with a conscience and a love for his country. It had to be a tough decision for him let's give credit where credit is due.

This guy is a back-stabbing POS. Trying to cya for the sake of history or his next job. He wants to vote Obama, fine ... but he worked for McCain and drew a check. So keep yer yap shut 'til after the election.

All these McCain people are really embarrassing themselves now ....

I'm not wild about party politics and rabid partisanship, but I honestly can't wait to see the Dems publicly disembowel that POS Lieberman. After this January, the only caucus Joe will be invited to attend will consist of him and a coat rack in some back closet.
