i was asking this in the chat room and apaops started crying, but anyways, why did shanahan stop using the approach that got us averaging nearly 40 ppg the first 3 games to a really pathetic whatever he is trying to do now?

perfect example is jacksonville. first drive he went out flying, we got a TD in like 7 or 8 plays. after that he went back to typical shanahan approach of stop trying to score TDs and try to control the ball, and it clearly isnt working. anyone?

He's getting conservative because the whole flipping team has an epic case of fumble-****ing-itis.

well hell if we are gonna fumble when running it, atleast try to air it out. that worked big time the first 3 games.

I think early on it had to do with Jay's hand. It was obviously affecting his throws. Running the ball was effective until someone did you know what twice. We were never in it again.

I think Shanahan doesn't trust his defense.. if you score too soon or too fast it puts your defense on the field. After awhile they tire out.. you start getting those long drives for scores.

Which then means you have the ball on offense less and less... you force the Broncos to go 3 and out, and all of sudden you have the advantage.

Back in the day of the Bills hurry up offense they would score on you every time they had the ball... but their defense would force you to punt .. and the Bills would just roll up the score.

I can see the Broncos being a team like that.. once they get a defense.

those fumbles killed the game for sure. we had 2 good drives heading downfield effectively until then. our linemen should have knocked the ball out of bounds on the first one though.

but i mean every game after week 4, not just this week.

It also seems we only have 3 passing plays and jay will throw into bracketed coverage everytime down the field and is getting picked off. tale of 2 seasons so far as ESPN kept point out. first 3 games we looked like a super O. last 4 have been average at best with way too many giveaways.

Shanny got conservative because there was concern for Jay's hand, and his first throw after that injury was a horrible pass so they went with running the ball.
I knew Shanny was really concerned when there 2nd and 3rd and longs and we didn't pass the ball.

Our team is best when we are balanced.

So do you guys think it's a just BS that the media has been saying that Shanny hasn't been involved with the offensive gameplanning and offensive play calling since the 2000 season.

What says the O'mane on this topic, hmmm?

they were actually rather agressive against the Jags, especially during that first drive.

i think the Stokley and Scheffler injuries have really hampered the offense as of late. Stokes is Jay's go to guy on 3rd down.
