The Denver Broncos will see a large amount of turnover over the bye week. Even though it's unprecidented here I think there may even be a coaching change on D. Not saying Slowik is getting canned but maybe get pushed aside like Bates did last year. Shanny ain't gonna be excited about this game and neither will bowlen. Sure, the O was a wreck too but Shanny ain't firing himself, He'll just cut Andre Hall and call it a day for the O.
Week 9, the D will look Different. Maybe not better, but different.

The problem with cutting Hall is that we don't have anybody else and we waiting until most of the other servicable vets were signed. We might be stuck with him.

Hall had a bad game. Most teams wouldn't cut him but Shanahan may. He's got no tolerance for fumblers. None.
I still think Martinez is better returning kicks.

I like Hall but shanny is gonna make some cuts and he's gotta be target #1. At least he runs straight on kickoff returns.
I think Slowik will not be running the D in week 9.

If there is one thing Shanny really hates, its RB's who fumble the ball.
Just ask:
Tatum Bell
Mike Bell
and Rueben Droughns

Well, that and he needs somebody to blame for this mess other than himself. Doesn't have anything to do with the lack of talent and disastrous FA this past offseason...

Really? We should have Hall back and Torain and Pittman.
That SHOULD be enough to get us through the rest of the year.

This off-season?
I challenged this board a few threads back to name me the last impact defensive player we signed out of free agency.
That would be John Lynch, and that would have been many years ago.
Want to have more fun?
Name 3 impact players we've signed on defense... and see how far back you have to go to get to 3.
Shanahan's GM ability on the defensive side of the ball is just beyond words.
It took him 7 games to bench Engleberger, for flip's sake. The guy just doesn't know what he's looking at on defense. He needs help and he's apparently not getting it.

I'll assume by "Hall" you mean Young. But you really think 3 is enough? You think Torain and Young can stay healthy the rest of the year? Really?

Yep, and promoting Lowry didn't do much to help his case. And you're right, not just this offseason!

HERES what needs to happen.
Manuel and Lowry go to back ups.
Woodyard (SS) and Barrett (FS) to safety positions.
YEP THATS RIGHT.
Whats the difference? At least DEN can see what they have in both rookies and make the adjustments for the draft.
Why not let rookies play instead of 2 complete wash-outs who dont even try to make plays. At least the rookies will bust their @$$ and possibly develop.
Also, if Dre Bly is just gonna fall down to try and illicit a flag response, BENCH HIM! Jack MotherF***in Williams, Welcome to the NFL!
F*** DRE BLY. Period.
As for the offense, I dont understand what the deal was, but the o-line was crushed. Looked like the old O-line. Horrid.
Shanny should absolutely fist F*** our 2nd year RT Ryan Harris for making a stupid play. That crap is stupid. Run laps all tues.
The rest is fixable, but the O needs to be adjusted. .
I am personally more concerned with the defense at least playing competitive and showing some Motherf***in Sparkle F***in spirit!
What the F*** WAS THAT!?!??!?!

the OL got pounded tonite because when the Pats went up by 20, they were coming after Cutler every play and sending a lot of guys at him.

Finally, I agree with someone on this board. Two fumbles on his first two touches. Yup, I'd call that a bad game.

i think he is looking at Slowik as a friend instead of a bad Coach. He is giving him way too many opportunities to try and turn a turd into a diamond.
I am beginning to think we need to blow up this defense, and rebuild it. And it starts with coaching. We need to bring in a real defense intelligent DC and give him more than one season to turn it around.

Anytime our team, offensive or defensive, has any certain fire, we have retard fans on this board coming in telling them to calm down.
I hate those idiots...in what ****ing sport do you tell someone to turn down the intensity?

theres a fine line between being intense and being too intense to the point of no discipline and you horribly blow your assignment. look no futher than a Webster, Nate on the Broncos roster for proof of this
Al Wilson was the master of being intense yet disciplined at the same time
God i just want some legit safetys next season. Shanny has to go safety Round 1 after tonights atrocity

There's not such thing as "too intense."
It's how you play with intensity.
Look at Ray Lewis and the Ravens

both play with passion BUT remain in their assignment.

The Winborn facemask penalty was the most depressing thing in the whole game.
Fumbles, as annoying as they are, are at least understandable.
But if Winborn doesn't grab the facemask then NE are punting from deep in their own half with a few minutes left in the half. We get the ball back and put a drive together and it's 13-7 at HT, despite all the BS that went on.
But Winborn commits one of the stupidest penalties I've ever seen and they inevitably march up for a TD to go 20-0 up.
God, that was some dumb ****...

Nah... I don't think so. The Broncos are going to try to get healthy, Brandon Stokley, Tony Scheffler, Selvin Young should all be back. Ryan Torain should start to see some playing time.
Bottom line.. ' you are .. what you are'.

Yeah that highlighted the evening for me. It's like every play we screwed up it was the worst possible time to screw up. Hall comes in to give Pittman a breather and if he's just tackled we're kicking a field goal there. Instead he fumbles. He comes back in and doesn't just fumble, but fumbles backwards and we commit a penalty on the play giving them great field position. Despite this fiasco, we're only down six. Then Winborn for some reason reaches into the guys face and yanks. What is he doing? It's third and forever and he hands them a first down. Cutler throws a pick into double coverage again, and then when Bailey goes down, who was once again owning Moss, it all crashed down. It was just a horrible evening.
What also bugged me is how much the offense has degenerated week to week. We're on course to score a mere field goal against the Dolphins. That's a trend and not a good one. They showed Shanahan's locker room speech after the Jags loss and he was in total denial saying "let's go get ready for Monday Night" and kind of just "whatever" about the whole thing. I wish he would ride his players more especially after loses. I hope he makes them practice this week.

We are getting good pressure in the 3-4 defense in passing situations.. The problem with it is in running situations we have small DE's Lined up on the outside (ESPECIALLY THE RIGHT SIDE!) Small OLB's getting pushed around out of the tackle box, and a safety who can't even take the right angle to make a tackle... Even when he was in positions he got blown up. I can't even count how many times where we hit a guy at the line of scrimmage only for him to fall and extra 6-7 yards. I saw NE's LB's killing pittman with just one player throwing him to the ground.. yet we have to gang tackle to get a guy down???
I saw aggressiveness when we blitzed for the 1st time in forever. The DL and the LB's were pushing guys out of the way to get to the QB. If they keep that up we are on to something.
