Yep, that Lion game was bad but the KFC game this year was worse. At least Lions were decent at the start of last year.

Not awesome, but we've seen some flashes tonight that we haven't seen in a while. We made two 3rd down stops to start the game and had 5 sacks in the first half. A D just can't expected to stop a team when we're handing the ball over at our own 30 every series.

Sorry but you're totally grasping at straws. This is a 2-5 team pretending to be 4-3 that has been hammered by 5 offences out of the 7 they've faced.

The only upside is that injuries to offensive players have killed any response we have to that over the last 2 games and getting those players back is the only prayer this team has in keeping SD at bay and somehow claiming this division.

*sigh*

Such high hopes, dashed because we play sloppy football.

Offensively, if its not fumblitis RBs, is poor decisions by Cutler who has been so off his game since he talked smack about John Elway.

Our defense has been in shambles for, well I cant remember the last time I had confidence in our defense. Our special teams seem to be the best unit on the field and that, my friends, is a sad state of affairs because they too, suck in most areas.

Today, like the first charger game last year and the Detroit game last year, I am embarrassed to be a Bronco fan. I dont care how die hard you are, if you are not embarrassed today, something is wrong with you.

This team baffles the hell out of me. How can they be so good and so bad all at the same time?

Man I dont know whats going on.

We have all the tools offensively to be better than this but have played like **** for 4 straight weeks.

Even teh NO game wasnt great offensively. Less than 30 points (which is my measurement of great, 20-30 being good, remmeber the Defense scored 7 of those points).

I just dont understand anything about this team.

You wont catch hell from me.

I didnt even give Wolf hell because I saw Wolf's point. Everyone is so afraid of criticizing Shanahan but Wolf made many excellent points (even if I dont necessarily agree with them) this past offseason.

Shanahan has proven very very little he had an all pro team. He doesnt build teams right...at least not anymore...and he seems to have lost all objectivity when it comes to defense.

I dont want to get rid of him. Im willing to let Shanahan ride Cutler to failure if that's his path. If Cutler does not work out and, judging by the last four games I cant say I can gaurantee it anymore, then Shanahan needs to go.

Im not willing to give him ANOTHER shot at developing a young team. Id rather take the route of getting some other coach in here and giving them a shot at developing. Shanahan is getting older and maybe, just maybe, the power he has over the organization is clouding his judgement.

*shrug* What do I know though. I will be there through every gut wrenching loss and nailbiting win whether he stays or goes.

The Broncos need this bye to re-group and get healthly.

I doubt there is anyone on this team with pride left (champ looks beat even in interviews). Even shanny does not have the same fire anymore.

I thought the same when SD was piling on in the LT record breaking game with fumblerooskis and the next time we played SD, players just quit and got booed of the field. Just saying.......

There's usually some noticable improvement from teams as the season progresses. I can honestly say that's not been the case for the Broncos defense for the last 8-10 years.

They have given up 38,32,33,24, and 41 points to some of the worst offenses, (save SD & NO) in the NFL this season.

Granted, the offense has put them in a hole the last couple of weeks with turnovers, but this defense can't stop anyone. Numerous 70+ yards TD drives, teams passing and running at will.

This hybrid defensive scheme isn't working. Players are celebrating making a tackle like they've never done it before. Again, I constantly see them trying to tackle players up high, taking wrong angles, and flat out getting physically man-handled.

After 10 years of excuses, with virtually no improvment at all, the finger can only be pointed in one direction. The HC.

No more scape-goating of defensive coaches. This team is clearly a reflection of Shanahan. They lack passion and fire for the game, are marginal in talent, and are physically weak.

We'll have to endure this the rest of the season. Changes will have to be made again this offseason on defense. Only this time nobody's job is safe except Champ & DJ. If I was Champ, I'd ask to be traded. Most of his teamamate quit on him yesterday. He doesn't deserve this.

Slowik should return to secondary coach but all the other coaches should be fired. And whomever they bring in to coach the defense, they had better have fundamental tackling at the top of their priority list.

Lastly, Pat Bowlen finally needs to step in and re-distribute power within the FO. Shanahan should have nothing to do with personnel decisions or player acquisition. If he can't live with that, he should be free walk.

Sad as it is to admit, I'm embarrased to be a Bronco fan today.

THis was embarassing to be sure, but I don't think anyone should panic as bad as we're seeing on the forum. It's a young team, and when they got thrown off their game plan by Cutler's finger injury right out of the gates, they panicked - and things went from bad to worse.

What I saw last night was an inexperienced offense that didn't handle adversity well, and a defense that fell down the tubes after them. I think this is one of those things that only gets corrected with experience.

Not sure what Bowlen could do that would actually help out the situation.

What I saw last night was the most recent evidence that our offense has been figured out, that our skill position guys are lacking in fundamental skills such as ball security. Clady was the only bright spot on O.

On Defense I saw the most recent evidence that this group of pansies couldn't stop my grandmother from getting her social security check, they buckle like cheap lawn furniture. The scheme, well the scheme is either grossly misunderstood by our personnel or it's a sh!t scheme. Either way it bodes ill for the club.

Overall I saw a team that lacked any desire or pride...again. If it ain't going well this club goes into pucker mode, turtles up, rolls over, pouts and quits. I have no desire to give two ****s about this group of guys generally, these f@cktards have broken me. I've been through bad seasons, young teams, and bad teams with this club before and the only thing that made it tolerable is that they played with pride and desire, even when the chips were down. Once these guys start caring about Broncos football again I'll start caring about Broncos football again. In the meantime I'll be spending autumn Sundays in the park with my son.
