View Full Version : What will be ESPN's "story" tonight

montrose

Those of us who still have something left in our intestines after listening to the ESPN MNF crew gush over Brett Favre a year ago and shed a tear for the fall of the Raiders on opening night know that the network is notorious for picking a "theme" or "story" to run with into the ground for the night. What will tonight's story be?

Yeah, you should know better. ESPN sets their talking points up in advance. They picked their "team" in the preseason and they're going to follow them all year, reality be damned.

What the Yankees and the Red Sox will be doing this offseason.
Exactly! See you have to think like ESPN. As far as they're concerned the MLB season is over.

hey here we are folks on monday night football. its a great game today that could have been for you folks. but a setback has been set for the tragic patriots this year with the injury in week one with tom brady going down for the season with a knee injury. now because of that the team has been struggling to find there identity but they have been able to rise above it with the great coaching of arguably the best coach that ever stepped foot on the field winning 3 super bowls with his quaterback, bill belicheat. but now with the loss of the best all around player in the game in tom brady, the almighty, gods gift to football and espn, bill belecheat will have his hardest task ahead of him in beating what potentially could be an explosive offense in the denver broncos. but lets not think about them for a second and take note of a previous game when the immortal brett favre brought his team back to beat those broncos in 1 of the best overtime games ever to be played in the nfl history. amazing. but that is who the patriots are facing now in there respective division. they both battle each other and with that they both will have to do there best to win the afc east.

now the game. -

all patriot talk and now it reached the 3rd quater and the broncos are ahead or coming back. now the announcers discuss a little about how mike shanahan and the broncos has not won since john elway and terrell davis.

now back to the game-
4th quater-

well folks next week we have the J-E-T-S brett brett brett coming to MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!! still 10 minutes left in the 4th quater.
Mrs favre will be a special guest in the box for commentary. se will joing us to watch brett favres jets play with us. also brett favre will be there to play the game. u got that right brett favre folks. now we all know u will be here next week to see that game. 2 minutes left in the game now after all that rambling while the game is on.

now folks lets get back to the game.
well it looks here that the broncos may have pulled off one of the biggest upsets in this game. ( pause actual thought of an apology here. none given dont worry) but we all hope to see you folks next week when brett favres jets come to monday night football.

special note to tony korn- GFY! :)

Depends on how the game goes. Denver winning = Tom Brady's injury. Close game = Development of Matt Cassel. Patriots winning = both of the above, and considerable mention of undefeated last year.
