this is absolutely fabulous - its creating two games a year that will be gut-wrenching if we lose and sublime if we win. a new rivalry has been born while the Chefs and Choakland flounder around in mediocrity.
these two young, top 5 QBs will be battling for their long careers as well.
what's better is this has garnered national attention. i love it

I dont give a rat's A$$ what they think of Cutler. It isnt their problem. Well, it will be come Dec. 28th. I didnt read the Chargers forum but i guess they still arent too bright and some have taken their bags off their avatar's head since they won big against the Pats.

The Chargers fans are trying to get their kicks in now because they know their team is about to go into hibernation rebuild mode for about 5 years if they dont win REALLY soon.

I loved this post:
I wonder if he's taken some heat from REAL Broncos fans for the Elway comments. I know I'd wanna smack Rivers if he said he was better than Fouts.
ROFL!

These idiots made comments about his diabetes. I dont mind smack but cracking on his diabetes is pretty low. But at least we have a rivalry that reminds me of the Raiders.

Well, duh. Rivers is not real popular on this board, so why would anyone be surprised that Cutler isn't popular on a Charger board?

You cant even compare Fouts to Elway, so saying that you would be mad if Rivers compared himself to Fouts would be retarted, Fouts who?

Jay Cutler comparing himself to Elway is stupid on many levels. What has Jay Cutler ever accomplished at any level to be making that comparison? Has he even had a winning season yet in his career? High school, maybe?

Cutler never said he was better than Elway he said he had the stronger arm. And unless I was told by the team to say otherwise, I'd say the same thing. Football is not a sport where confidence or even cockiness bites you in the ass - as long as you work your ass off and bring it every sunday.

Charger fans as a whole, have they made a decision to go with the Cutless, Cuddles or Cuddler name yet? I mean, if you're going to mock the guy, pick one and stick with it.

I actually saw someone say that Cutler runs his mouth too much, and that they don't know why he's going public with this.
Was Rivers running his mouth on national TV private? This reminds me of a story about a pot and a kettle.

Shanahan actually said in an interview yesterday that he thinks Cutler was joking. He said he's seen him answer that question many times before by saying basically: "I've never seen Elway throw, so how the **** would I know?" Shanahan compared it to when he said he thought Griese had a stronger arm than Montana (before Griese had shoulder surgery) and everyone claimed he said Griese was the next Montana.
I actually think that's pretty funny. Cutler has a little bit of contempt for the press, for which they will try to crucify him, because they actually believe they're important. But to real people I think that contempt for the press should be a sign of intelligence.

Wow, this "my arm is bigger than your" sure got blown way out. If thats what you call comparing himself to Elway than ok, big deal. But lets be serious here, is it that big of a deal? no, chugger fans just need another reason to be hating on Cutler instead of worrying about how many Super Bowls they have!
Cutler and Rivers both are pretty cocky and that is what I like about them. Not the normal boring politically correctness we always see in QBs. They are both good players who are not afraid to lead and speak up. Their mouths get them both in trouble but who cares, it keeps it interesting.
Rivers has put up huge numbers against the Broncos D and should be able to talk all the crap he wants. Cutler eeked out a ref-aided win for the first time this year and probably should make the playoffs or at least a real win against the Chargers before he goes on national TV and takes a rip at Rivers. But the good ones are cocky even when they aren't winning so I will give him a pass.

That didn't get blown out of proportion at all. He's an NFL quarterback. He might as well have said his **** is bigger than Elway's. Same difference to them. Comparing himself to a HOFer when he hasn't done a single thing to put himself in that category is just brash and stupid. Cutler is a cocky bastard.

let's be honest here - Cutler is talking a big game and I sure hope he backs it up Monday Night as well as the rest of the season. He has played a major role in at least half the turnovers that have cost us in all 3 (yes 3) of our losses. fumble in the red zone v the Chargers, 2 costly INTs against the Chefs, and another fumble against the Jags

That's pure bull****. Everyone agrees that Jeff George had one of the biggest arms ever. Hell Ryan Leaf had a pretty big arm. Probably both bigger than, say, Joe Montana's. Saying someone has a big arm is in no wise saying they are a similar quality quarterback.

Thats fine, it's just giving the Chugger community another reason to bitch about the Broncos. Another reason to point the finger...
