Do you naysayers realize that Jay himself said that he is around a 6 when asked to self assess his game right now. He realizes that he has to improve. He's said as much. The good news is that he has the talent, confidence, and COACHING to improve. He started off on fire and a lot of that is coaching and Shanny taking advantage of mismatches. Right now teams are adjusting and Jay isn't seeing it on the fly but rather a few days later during film study/review.
Manning in his 2nd full year of starting:
62.1% 4,135 yards 26 TDs 15 INTs 14 sacked
Brees in his 2nd full year of starting (11 games his 2nd season):
57.6% 2,108 yards 11 TDs 15 INTs 21 sacked
Rivers in his 2nd full year of starting (4th year on the team):
60.2% 3,152 yards 21 TDs 15 INTs 22 sacked
Favre in his 2nd full year of starting (3rd year in the NFL):
60.9% 3,303 yards 19 TDs 24 INTs 30 sacked
McNabb in his 2nd full year of starting (3rd year on team):
57.8% 3,233 yards 25 TDs 12 INTs 39 sacked
Now Cutler. If you take the first 6 games and project his stats using the first 6 games he would end up something like this:
64% 4,500 yards 32 TDs 14 INTs 6 sacked
If you take his last three games (the ones everyone is complaining about!) and project only off of those numbers he would end up something like this:
61.2% 4,160 yards 21 TDs 16 INTs 5 sacked and 5 fumbles
So, even at his worst, against pretty good defenses and the Chefs at CamaroHead, he is doing pretty damn good when compared to some of the other top QBs in the NFL. Right Now Jay is probably on track for numbers that will end up like this:
62.5% 3900 yards 27 TDs 15 INTs 10 sacked
That is only 2200 yards in 10 games or 220 yards per game.
That is only 15 more TDs in 10 games or 1.5 TDs per game.
That is only 10 more INTS in 10 Games or 1 INT per game.
That is Peyton Manning type numbers in year two. If you'd like, go back and look at those guys #'s the year after! (Manning 33 TDs, 15 INTs; Favre 33 TDs, 14 INTs; Brees 27 TDs, 7 INTs in 15 games; McNabb 17 TDs and 6 INTs in 10 games; Rivers so far 14 TDs, 4 INTs, in 6 games) Jay is on track and if you don't like what you're getting right now... YOU'RE ON CRACK! Just look at the jump Rivers has had between last year and this year.

He over hyped he should be willing the team to victory ever game and throwing 10 TDs and not have one in-completion.

I wrote this season off as an 8 and 8 before it started. The Broncos will go nowhere with this D. To think otherwise is fooling yourself. Cutler is just in his sophomore slump. He's still got mad skills. They'll come to the front over time. But as Dan Fouts and Air Coryell proved long ago, no matter how good your offense is, it can't overcome a lousy D.

I think people see Brees throwing for 3 TDs and 300 yards or Favre throwing for 6 TDs, or McNabb throwing for 4 TDs and think that Cutler should be doing the same thing every week. NOT GONNA HAPPEN EVERY WEEK. Not even for those guys!

Cutler is horrible?
Cutler is overrated
Cutler lost the game
These are the titles of threads which are all at the top of page one right now. Damn, I don't think Plummer got this much action when he was stinking up the joint in 2006.

Don't get all pissy. Of course I'm still watching. I just think this team needs a few more pieces on D before it can get up into the top level. This offense will be fine with what it has now. The problem isn't Cutler, it's the D. Watching that 79 yard final march down the field of the Jagwads only proves it.

I'm not pissy. I could care less if you're watching or have wrote of the team already. It is your right to not get your hopes up for fear of your team not living up to expectations. Carry on.

OK here the plan
-theDAVE drives his van up from the river and park it across the street.
-TJ use his Ron Paul Liberty Dollars to outfit it with top notch SPY GEAR
-HotRod use his potato gun and provides security
-SOCAL sues the city when attempt to tow theDave' home for some BS Reason
-Rusty sits in van watching because he's Scottish and we all know foreigner don't work anyway.
-Khan can provide Cutler watch reports
-ApaOPS5 can provide Cutler family report on what candy he should be giving out.

Ahhh puppies....oh wait that's not what I wanted to say..I figure why just a thread...let's create a whole special room called "Run the QB out of town." So that way all the stuff about whichever QB is the tackling dummy of the moment can be put there. So you would have Jake Plummer is the spawn of Brodie Croyle threads mixed in with Jay Cutler needs to Geter done, get done, whatever the thread was. And in the future when there is another QB to hate upon, that is not the second coming of John Elway (unless we actually do get his kid someday) we can put it all there. Please note this was SARCASTIC. I am aware this is dangerous here, but I cannot help it.
And as for the stuff about Plummer, I think the guy probably did get it worse, given the JaketheMistake website and others of its ilk. I don't think Jay actually has any of those yet. I hope it doesn't happen and I believe the majority of fans understand the guy still has to develop, but he does have the potential. Denver has bigger problems then Jay, though no doubt he can improve just like everybody else in the world. Patience is the watch word for fans and players alike.
I am just grateful not to be a Chiefs fan this week or any week. Though go Gonzo, go to NY.

Cutler is going to be a great QB. There's little doubt of that, however, he's not there yet.
Yes, the interview with Marshall Falk was telling. Jay himself said he has a long ways to go and it will probably take a couple more years. I thought that was great to hear. I mean, Cutler is about as honest as you will find. Right now he's riding his talent...in a couple years...he'll understand defenses alot better and look out!
As far as him losing the game. Look. You cannot fumble the ball like we do and expect to win games. Both Jay and Brondon have to really look themselves in the mirror. This team is leading the NFL in fumbles. Thanks to Mr. Ed...we beat the Bolts...that would and should have been a loss due to Jay's fumbling ways. He fumbled again at K.C. and once again yesterday. Marshall has fumbled three times as well.
So, maybe their not 100% responsible...but take off your orange goggles and call it like it is. You can't screw up like that and win very many games.

I think Cutler thinks he has to score every possession because the D isn't worth a damn, and if we are down, he gets really heated to score.
I like Cutler, think he's a fantastic QB, but he needs to just calm down and not force things so much.
Miss I.

I agree with you. We can't win with those kinds of turnovers. Even Dallas loses when they turnover the ball like that. However, having said that, making Jay the fall guy or whoever the QB of the moment might be, the fall guy for the entire game/season is also misguided. The team, both offense and defense needs improvement. My only objection is the extreme reaction. I get it's grief over a game loss, but the only way it becomes a real failure for all involved is if the team (Jay included) learns nothing and continues to make the same mistakes.

Simple. Name one QB near his age that you would trade him straight up for?
Eli- I like Cutler's mobility better
Ben-Maybe
Carson-Not with that injury
Romo-I think Romo's a system QB
Vince-....
Matt-.....
Campbell- I think he is robotic
Trent- I like Cutler more
Rogers- Injury prone
Rivers- Balls of steal but can't say I would want him more the Jay
Out of that list....there are not many I would rather have, even though 2 have already one titles.

First of all, anyone calling for Cutler's head needs a reality check. The guy is a franchise QB who has the ability to lead Denver to multiple Super Bowls.
However, as the poster above states, it appears to me he's putting a lot of pressure on himself to score. In addition, and just my opinion, I wonder if he's reading his headlines a bit too much? We know he's confident and sure of himself, but maybe his head is getting too big? The weekend article regarding arm strength between him and Elway is an example. It strikes me as odd that he would flatly say his arm is stronger.
Anyway, Cutler and the Broncos will be just fine. There are still a few pieces missing (Safety, MLB, DL) and until the holes are filled, the team will remain inconsistent.

Here is the funny thing about the whole arm strength thing...
First, it's a badge of honor. I threw in the high 80's once upon a time and could rocket the ball from the outfield as well. Having an arm that generally is amongst the top in your league/division/area/etc gives you a bit of an ego. You hear people talk about your arm strength and your confidence sky rockets. I don't find it the least bit surprising that Cutler thinks his arm is the strongest. It is an ego thing.
Here is the funny thing about arm strength though. The QB it DOES NOT make! If it was only about arm strength then Jeff George would be a HOFer and Joe Montana would be an after thought that never saw the field. I think Mike Shanahan summed it up perfectly two years ago when asked the same question. If Elway had a 10 in the arm strength department what does Cutler have? A 10 as well. And how does that scale work? A QB with a 10 is capable of making all of the throws. The deep out across the field... yep, both of them could make that throw. Could Elway get it there faster, probably. Does it matter... NOPE! Throw the ball 70 yards down field. Are both capable... YEP! Could Elway throw it 70 yards but with more air under it or on more of a rope... Probably, does it matter... NOPE! The only thing that matters is can Jay make all of the throws. The answer is yes. HE CAN MAKE EVERY SINGLE THROW WITH HIS ARM STRENGTH, THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS. I personally prefer my QB to have a bit of cockiness or an edge. It beats the hell out of watching somebody like Griese go back and pout on the bench!!!

Cutler has a 94.8 QB rating, 12 TD's an 5 Ints. That is over 2 times as many TD's as INTs.
I don't cringe everytime he drops back to pass.
He does seem to trust Marshall a lot, I wish he would look for Stokley or even Jackson (when out there) more but he is just trying to get the ball to a playmaker.
He will learn.

This is true. With someone like Jake Plummer, you get nervous everytime he throws the football, with Cutler, I don't get like that.

The only player that I think needs to keep his head in the game is Marshall, we can't have him getting the ball stripped like that. For a big guy like him it shouldn't be happening if he is on top of his game.

Cutler has gotten better each game I am glad that he is our QB . I do belive he will become one of the best ever type of QB . the only thing IMO he needs to do a little more is to take the short pass more in doing this he makes his long ball way more deadly because then the team we play cannot roll the FS over to Marshall . If this team is to really make other teams D off balance you need more balance .

Once we get Royal and Sheff back I believe they will spread the ball.
I think they gameplan a lot of the plays to Marshall in order to get better matchups depending on what they think they can do vs that week's D.
They did the same for Royal in week 1, he was the feature guy and Jay's 1st read all night. Royal was not thrown to as much the following 2 weeks as Marshall dominated and was capable of the YAC.
I think there will be more balance once everyone is back.

You must not have watched this years game because the D surely didn't lose us this game..in fact the O lost both games this year...3 TO's and 2 horrible calls against us...the D is actually getting stops now and the offense isn't capitalizing. Turning the ball over in the redzone is unacceptable..in gerneral its unacceptable but especially in the redzone..thats pretty demoralizing to the entire team!! They even forced a couple of TO's..the D is getting better!!
