Anybody find out what was wrong with him?

Anyways, I got blasted for saying Denver needed to draft another WR high in the next draft... (1st-3rd round selection). People asked why... we have Marshall (one incident away from being popped for a half season or the whole year), Eddie Royal, and Stokely, the best 3rd WR in the game.

I like Stokely but the guy is on his last legs. If you can keep him at a 4th WR, Ricky Proehl type, he'll be fine for another couple seasons. As soon as injuries hit and he's inserted into the lineup for more than 12-15 plays, his play declines like his health. No surprise he had a big 1st quarter and then was sitting on the bench come the 2nd half.

I'll say it again. We should really invest in another WR come this next draft. We need give Jay as many quality targets as possible in the future.

I don't know what happened but after he left the game the offense looked like crap.

Pittman played a very good game though.

Sorry, but Stokley is NOT on his last legs.

We need to draft a top notch RB to take pressure off our passing game. If we can start forceing teams to put 8-9 players in the box then our passing game will open up more.

While I agree that another young WR is needed--I think it is obvious by the crap that we have playing Safety that safety and DT are our biggest needs. Wr is a luxury that we cannot afford at this time......In the 5th or later, maybe, but 1st 3? NO.
1st round--DT or S--whover we have rated higher
2ndf round--ditto
3rd round--best available player......

Okay, last year he had to start for the offense, ended up getting hurt and missing a bunch of games.

Now he has to start again because of injuries and he's hurt again.

Good player, but he's like a 40 year old ace of a pitching staff. You have to watch his pitch count and hope you don't overuse him and wear him out.

We need another potential starting WR. Stokely is not that guy. Like I said, he might make a good 4th WR consistently. Expect anything more from him and you'll be disappointed.

Out DT's are fine, the DE"s need a lot of work. We could still use a MLB but Webster is playing a little better overall. Safety is the most glaring weakness right now. Even getting 2 mediocre players at the safety spots would instantly improve this defense.

Leet me try to explain this.
Our WR's, they are a huge ring, a flashy necklace and a nice watch.
Our RB's are a t-shirt from Hot Topic, a pair of 10 year old jeans and some cheap ass underwear.
Why go out and buy a diamond earring or another ring when you need to work on your clothing first?
Do you not know the Broncos that won the Super Bowl had practically zero receiving threats outside of Smith, McCaffrey and Sharpe. We have plenty of receiving help at the moment. Do we want to turn into the Detroit Lions?
Now, if you are talking rounds 4-6, then maybe look at picking a WR there.

BPC,

If not draft another... I'd love to find another savvy vet type like Stokely. We are such a different team when we have him out there on third downs. He's invaluable, and I really think not having him hurt us in a big way.

I like Martinez, but he's no Stokely on 3rd downs.

I agree with you on everything, except in the 1st or 2nd round we need a MLB.
1st Round MLB
2nd Round S
3rd Round RB
Rest of draft should be used getting depth on both lines, another S, WR/Return man
