Brandon Stokley could play a larger role in Denver's passing game this Sunday.

Last meeting
In Week 3 of last season, the Jaguars outrushed the Broncos 186-47 for a 23-14 road win.

Streaks
By winning their last three meetings with the Broncos, the Jaguars tied the overall series at 3-3.

Last week
Jacksonville was held to just 38 yards on the ground in a 26-21 home loss to the Steelers. ... Denver's offense was held in check vs. Tampa Bay, but some timely defense allowed the Broncos to hold on for a 16-13 home win.

Keep your eye on ...
Jacksonville's RBs: It's been hit or miss for Jacksonville's normally potent ground game this season. A stout Steelers defense kept Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor in check, but they should bounce back against Denver's 25th-ranked run defense.

Walker making a name for himself: A week after catching five passes vs. the Texans, Jaguars WR Mike Walker posted his first 100-yard performance vs. the Steelers. With Jerry Porter still recovering from a hamstring injury, somebody has to step up as David Garrard's go-to receiver.

Royal's replacement: Eddie Royal has been a pleasant surprise in the Broncos' pass-happy offense, but a an ankle injury could keep the rookie out of action this week. If Royal can't go, Brandon Stokley (six rec., 52 yards, one TD last week) should see more passes coming his way.

Did you know?
Jaguars DE Reggie Hayward played four seasons (2001-04) in Denver and totaled 22 sacks. ... Rashean Mathis has returned both of his interceptions for touchdowns this season. ... The Broncos are one win shy of their 400th franchise victory. ... Denver aims for its seventh straight home victory, dating back to last season. ... Denver's Champ Bailey (43) and Dre Bly (38) rank first and second among active CBs for most INTs since 1999.

Royal is expected to play. He will be listed as probable according to Shanny and will practice tomorrow.
