Sooners should win this game but its going to be probably the best game of the year.

Colt McCoy is playing lights out, as well as Bradford IMO. Though both trail behind Chase Daniel from Mizzou in sheer awesomness this year and I hate Mizzou so that tells you something.

Anyway, this rivalry has become my favorite in all of football. **** The OSU and Michigan, its all about OU/UT.

Bradford should be able to chew up the young Texas secondary. McCoy will need to be almost perfect to keep up.

Should be a helluva game, I'll be switching back and forth from the CU/squawks game and the UT/OU game.

as long as OU stuffs the running game and knocks McCoy around they'll be fine cause I don't think Texas can stop OU's offense

then you factor in the Stoops factor vs. Brown and I like their chances in this one

OU may not even win this game. It's not a given.

A concern for Texas entering its annual Red River showdown against Oklahoma is its inability to force turnovers. Texas has forced five fumbles and intercepted two passes to rank 96th nationally in takeaways. Its turnover margin is plus-one — rather slight for a team ranked No. 5 with a 5-0 mark. PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Longhorns
QB Colt McCoy — McCoy needs just one more touchdown pass to become the career leader at Texas after tying Major Applewhite with 67. He and WR Quan Cosby have also tied the UT record for most hookups with 131.
DT Roy Miller — Miller was named Big 12 co-defensive player of the week after recording eight tackles against Colorado, including one for a loss. He also recovered a fumble.
RB Chris Ogbonnaya — The sophomore is coming off his best performance, producing 116 yards receiving and 71 rushing off 15 touches at Colorado. He entered the game as UT's third-string back. Ogbonnaya also saved a touchdown with a tackle of Colorado DB Jalil Brown on an interception return.
Sooners
QB Sam Bradford — Through five games, Bradford is carrying a 204.97 pass efficiency mark and thrown for 1,665 yards while completing 106 of 146 attempts, including 18 touchdowns against three interceptions.
LB Ryan Reynolds — Reynolds plays in the middle and, following last week's game at Baylor, became the first linebacker ever to receive a 100 percent rating from defensive coordinator Brent Venables, who is also linebackers coach. Reynolds didn't want the perfect score and insisted Venables go back and find a mistake or two. So he did.
RBs DeMarco Murray, Chris Brown and Mossis Madu — No Sooner running back ran for even four yards per carry against Baylor, though the trio combined for almost 200, still managing to give the offense the balance it prefers. Yet given the history of OU-Texas (the team the runs the ball best almost always wins), there will be a premium on the Sooner ground game Saturday.
INJURY WATCH:
Longhorns
The status of TB Fozzy Whittaker, who's missed four games with knee injuries, remains uncertain. That prompted the UT staff to declare TB Chris Ogbonnaya the starter for the Oklahoma game.
Without starting TE Blaine Irby, who is out for the season with a knee injury, the Longhorns have two receptions at that position from his replacement, Peter Ullman.
Sooners
DT DeMarcus Granger is OU's best run-stopping lineman but has been out of action the last two weeks following a foot injury. Granger chose rehab over surgery, hoping to get back on the field. He's questionable for Saturday, but has participated in practice, making his return by Saturday at least a possibility.
DT Gerald McCoy, OU's best defensive lineman, left the Baylor game with an injury to the big toe on his left foot. He said on the way out of the stadium that he'd be fine, and has practiced this week, but his complete health remains a question. Having McCoy at this best would mean plenty to the Sooners.
DE Frank Alexander hasn't played since opening day as a result of a stab wound suffered to his arm. He is practicing again and is a possibility to play for the first time since the injury.
OL Branndon Braxton — A non-starter, who spells both guards and tackles on the offensive line, Braxton missed the Baylor game with an injury to his right leg, may be back in the mix in time for the Cotton Bowl.

OU is probably going to win but CFN last night talked about OUs DTs and if they arent fully healthy they are not going to stop Texas' running game at all.

The only chance I see of Texas actually winning this game will be if they can put good consistent pressure on Bradford. Their pass defense is shaky but if they can force Bradford into some bad throws it may save them.

McCoy is fine. Granger was probably not going to play anyway and Taylor is more than capable. The cubbord is not bare by any stretch.

And by Texas running game you mean Colt McCoy right? Because that's litterally all they have.

OU wins by 14 or more, mark it down.

With Missouri and LSU losing also, I think the Top 3 coming out in about 12 hours will be some combination of Alabama, Texas and Penn St.

I think Penn State is almost a lock to play in the BCS title game as they are clearly the best team in their conference (with no conference championship game) while the SEC and the Big 12 will continue to beat each other up, making it unlikely that an undefeated team will come through them.

So, fear not you 1-loss SEC and Big 12 teams. Your National Championship hopes aren't dead yet.

Sore losers.

Other than the Bronco game today, this was an awesome weekend of football.

MU loses AT HOME to Okie State (who looked impressive to me). Texas beats Stoops who has now falled to 1-4 in the last five meetings against Texas.

KU beats CU so I dont have to listen to stupid Bison fans the rest of the year.

1-4? What? Stoops is 2-3 in the last 5 meetings. 1 of those games was after he lost a ton of talent and Texas with Vince Young was clearly superior.

And the officiating was still brutal. I don't know what it is about the refs in the NFL and college football this year, but they have been brutal making horrible calls.
The calls didn't cost OU the game, but it just bugs me when we got called for a late hit on McCoy when the LB was trying to hold him up out of bounds and McCoy just flops.

You're #4 in the poll that doesn't count. It's the Coaches Poll (OU #6) and the Harris Poll (#4 but just a smidge ahead of Southern Cow) that matter in BCS land. Then you get to factor in all those computers that don't count running up the score in their math equations.

Realistically, the challenge for OU now is to win more conference games than Texas because Texas has the tiebreaker. Then they'd have to win the conference championship game (probably against Missouri) then see if they can make the top two in order to get SLAUGHTERED in another BCS title game.

OU has a realistic shot at the Big 12 Championship game, but at this point, I think OU may drop another game, while Texas drops at least 1, so the likelihood is probably not in their favor.
