Watching SNF Al Michaels hit us with this this stat, least contacted QB thru 4 weeks?
Jay Cutler.
Given how much he has thrown that is brilliant.

Our OL is really doing a good job with Pass Protection. Its a complete 180 from last year. Which is surprising with how drastic the line change has been.

I keep waiting for some love for the line..... I wanted us to draft not only Clady, but another lineman as well, as I did not believe Harris was the real deal, yet he is proving me wrong..
Our O-line is set up for many years of success, especially if Kory can come through and replace Weigman in a year or two... Now to have the same thing happen to the defensive line. Things would be grand.

Anyone notice when they pointed out that Lichtensteiger was in there for a few plays today?
Did Kuper, Weigmann or Hamilton get hurt? Or maybe they wanted to reward him for a good week of practice?

I think honestly they lined him up as an eligible receiver. One play he was lined up outside of Clady. I think its like a jumbo package. But no none of the regular line was hurt.

It was the second half. I believe he played right before Stokely scored the TD. But I can't say for sure. He did play and he lined up in the TE position next to Clady the one time I noticed.

I want to say, the protection seemed iffy at times today. Oakland, San Diego and New Orleans it seemed Cutler had days to sit back and throw. Past couple of games though it hasn't been as stellar, but still amazing to watch and not worry about our QB having to throw in a split second because of pressure.

Well when you play a top 10 defense its going to look iffy compared to the other not so great D's.

Cutler didn't get touched. Clady went against Gaines Adams and held up his end.
I can't believe our pass blocking is that good, with Clady and Harris in there, Hamilton out an entire season, Wiegman new to the system and Kuper playing RG instead of LG. It seems to me we are playing less max protect now than what we used to do, I noticed Graham out there in dump off patterns quite a few times.

Man Harris had a nasty trap block on a running play that sprung one of our backs for a nice gain. I can't believe how well he has played. Can't believe how well our whole line has played.

Harris has really stepped up this year, like way above what I would have even considered best case scenario. The great thing with him also is that he's a total character guy which makes a huge difference of course. I'm totally stoked about or tackles for the next 10 years if they live up to the potential they have now.

The Oline has been outstanding at pass protection
I wouldnt trade this offense for any other in the league. If Torrain is anything close to the hype, then we will pretty much be set at every single position for a while

Thats what it was. He was lined up like a TE kinda, he wasnt on the inside and from what I can tell he laid a good block on the one play I saw him on. I think he was in there for another play or two but thats the only one i noticed him on.

Yeah they are just trying to get him reps and let him participate which I think is cool. He's been in on jump sets all year.
As for the rest of the line, This is mostly the addition of Clady and Harris over Pears and broken-Lepsis that has helped us. To think people thought Clady would bust and we should have selected the now IR riding Mendenhall Hilarious!

Ehem...I admit to being "one of those" people. While we made up for picking a solid RB with the Torain selection, we needed a RB to make a difference. The RB position is **** right now. Someone is going to have to do be dependable to run the ball when we get to the playoffs, and Torain fits the bill after seeing him in training camp.

I was a full supporter of drafting Clady/any OL in the 1st, I thought that we desperately needed help there.
However, I was also thinking we would be fine at RB with Selvin Young. Well, I think we clearly need an upgrade at the position because we have at best 3 average RB's back there that would be backups on practically every team. Hopefully Torain can become that starting RB we need to help the running game, because right now, I'm not necessarily liking what I'm seeing. Although, we did face a good run defense this past week in Tampa, but KC gave up 200+ to Atlanta, and we have struggled for the most part IMO this year on the ground. Sure, we have nice totals, but it isn't consistent.

I saw Larsen just level some LB on a runing play to the right. leading Pittman, I believe. He was just plain nasty, put the other guy on his arse.
I think getting Hillis and Larsen has helped a lot. I would like to see more throws to the FB and not just Pittman. Those FBs are just flat nasty to would-be tacklers and opposing LBs.
The O has the potential to be among the betters Os in Denver history IMO. Gotta stay reasonably healthy....

Still not a fan of little Bennie Hamilton in the running game so I can't wait to see if Lichtensteiger can dislodge him next year. Either that or he steps in for Weigman and does a Nalen-like impression for 10 years. Clady is awesome and Harris has surprised me considerably.

I was wrong, Clady is dominate. He's a rookie too, Imagine him only getting better? :wiggle:

I believed in the Clady pick, but I didn't think it would yield the immediate results that it has.
I thought Clady would have had whole games where he got schooled as part of the learning process. He's actually just had a couple of plays where he got schooled and then jumped back up and flattened whoever got by him.....

You can't downplay the interior. Hamilton is back and is a huge upgrade, Weigman is head, shoulders, and everything else above Chris Myers, and Kuper with another year is coming on very strong. I think the strength of the interior is giving a lot of flexibility to the young guys on the outside and covering up the few and far between growing pains.

That was awesome. He took his man right out of the play. That was a nice run by Pittman too (I believe).
Speaking of Pittman, it looked like he wanted to show Gruden he still 'has it'. On a couple nice runs, Pittman looked like he had a rocket attached to his back! Nice burst up the middle!
Think about how good this offensive line has been and they are mostly 1st, 2nd or 3rd year players outside Hamilton and Weigman.
We just need to get some more depth this time around in the draft.

Props to all the guys on the O-line. They have helped to establish the personality of this team.
There is not a weak link in the chain right now.
I can't believe people would bag on Hamilton, he has held up just like the rest of the line - they are working extremely well as a unit.
I talked to Kory before the KC game, he loved just being on the field and wants to be a Bronco for a long time. Getting him in there at FB, TE, whatever. He is another great draft pick and "football player" that is helping the roster overhaul.
I think the biggest surprise to me is Ryan Harris. I never, ever, thought he would be this good.

The thing is with Ryan Harris, people knew he was a player, but nobody knew if he cared enough about football to really be good. Well he is showing them now, hell he may end up being the second best OT in that whole 2007 draft behind Joe Thomas.

With Nalen apparently done, and Weigman in the twilight of his career, how early do we draft an interior OL? My hope is round 2 to compete with Kory.
...and are we sure Kory's arms will allow him to complete an NFL snap?

Denver might be the best blocking team in the NFL when you factor in the solid work of the fullbacks, Daniel Graham and the receivers downfield.
When they interviewed Marshall last week, he said when they look at tape they always see where they missed an assignment or were not where they were supposed to be. He was referring to blocking, not catching the ball, which shows that everyone on offense puts a high priority on blocking, and it really shows.

And Rod Smith is too slow, Dumervil is too short, Nalen is too light, Pittman is too old, oh I forgot about TD - he runs a slow 40...
