Checking out the talk on this Tampa Bay board on our crappy D. This is pretty funny...I love the comment from this one dude that says this might be a fishy scouting report since it says we're "bad at everything"... ROFL!

Why is Denver's defense struggling?
Denver's defense is playing so poorly because it has four major problems:

• The Broncos' defenders are not breaking down in the open field or wrapping up when they tackle. Plus, they are not being physical, and good running backs are running over them. That will be a problem this week versus the punishing style of Buccaneers RB Earnest Graham.

• Denver's front four is easily blocked one-on-one and never gets to the quarterback. You hardly ever see them blitz, and when they do it is picked up quickly. This lack of a pass rush also creates problems on the back end because their corners are forced to cover for longer than they should have to. This is going to hurt them versus Tampa Bay because QB Brian Griese will have all day to process his reads.

• If you get a body on the Broncos' defenders, it is easy to create holes in the running game because they can't get off blocks. They don't use consistent leverage, have poor hand usage and don't fight to make a play.

• Denver's defense also routinely overruns plays and lacks gap integrity, allowing offenses to seal the backside -- so cut-back runners have a field day. However, this is surprising because the Broncos' defense faces a one-cut-and-go running scheme every day at practice.

Well it is true. The only thing funny about it is that it's right.

It's funny cause they're finding it hard to believe.

I think the defense will step up this week.

It just feels like one of those games to me.

If Robertson plays then our run defense begins to approach mediocre IMO.

Roberton, Marcus Thomas, and Engleberger have done a decent job at stopping the run. Whatever idiot at the RDE spot is terrible, but it allows the linebackers to overpursue in that direction with some hope of stopping him. If he pulls a cutback then it falls on Champ Bailey to make the stop on the left side - which he's done.

What we need to do is line up a proven pass rusher like Greise's dog at RDE to win this thing.

I can't believe we've been asking for a pass rush in this town for over ten years and it still hasn't happened.

It's not for lack of effort by the team.

We usually get rid of our pass rushers. Pryce etc... Our philosophy is why pay big money to guys who produce when there are Browncos or other losers to be had for cheap?

Just once I would like our defense to make the opposing qb have an off day.

Brian Griese will look like Tom Brady this week

I think every qb we have faced this year had a qb rating over 100 against our D

Great analysis. Dead one 100%.

We should "surpise" Onside kick every kickoff.

Broncos should come after Griese and hit him even if it's a flag. As soon as he takes a couple under the chin he will fold.

I really hope so Doom. This will be the first game I don't get to watch as I will be working. What do we have here so far this season? 6 sacks and an int? No pressure and crappy blitzes. Pretty much a Ray Rhodes defense look-a-like. One thing I like though, is that when we force fumbles we are recovering the ball.

IMHO I dont think this game will be as difficult defensively as the previous 3 where.

Against SD we had to account for Rivers, LT, Sproles, Jackson, Chambers and Gates.

Against NO we had to account for Brees, Bush and Shockey.

Against KC we had to account for Bowe, Gonzalez and Johnson (who loves playing against Denver)

Today we've got the Bucs without Galloway. If we stop Earnest Graham we stop that offense. If we cant cover Bryant, Hilliard, Clayton and Smith then our 11 that suit up on D on Sundays should be looking for alternative employment.

Just my opinion.

We are getting pushed all around all over the field.

We come out super pumped to make plays.

Warwick Dunn maybe be an old man - but lets not forget about him. I'm sure he'll get free into space a couple of times and burn us for a big gain.

Graham has two 100+ yard games already and is breaking off 5.7 a pop...what would make you think we can stop him? This D would be lucky to stop Tulane right now. We'll make Griese look like Montana and we'll need 40 points to win just like we have before. The only way I see it otherwise is if SOB just floats up a few gimme's for Champ and we win the TO battle by at least +3...otherwise it's another pinball game.

It looks bad when you deck him while he is running downfield to get to the new line of scrimmage.
