crazy looking stupid Bish ...

Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney, known for her provocative statements when she was a congresswoman from Georgia, accused the Department of Defense this week of using Hurricane Katrina to cover up the slaughter of 5,000 prisoners.

At a news conference in Oakland, Calif., on Sunday, McKinney claimed the Pentagon authorized the execution of the prisoners with one bullet to the head three years ago and then dumped their bodies in a Louisiana swamp.

McKinney said she heard the story from the mother of a National Guard soldier who said her son was assigned to help dispose of the bodies.

"And these were mostly males and her son was afraid to talk because he had signed a silence agreement," McKinney told the crowd. "So he only complained to his mother. But the data was entered into a Pentagon computer."

McKinney said she verified the story from "insiders" who wanted to remain anonymous.

"I suspect that these are prisoners. ... So this investigation of the whole prison industrial complex is extremely important and it should not end with just a question of the nature of prisons in our country," she said to a captivated audience. "These 5,000 souls also need some justice too."

A Defense Department spokesman dismissed McKinney's accusation.

"The claim is outrageous on the very face of it and doesn't merit any further consideration," said Lt. Col. Les' Melnyk. "It would be inconceivable that 5,000 people would go missing in America without anyone noticing it prior to this."

Psychologists and psychology professors contacted by FOXNews.com wouldn't comment on McKinney's mental condition, but they expressed shock at her assertion.

"Wow! What a conspiracy theory," one professor exclaimed before declining comment and hanging up the phone.

Dr. Celia Ward, a clinical psychologist in Washington, D.C., said she wouldn't speculate on McKinney's state of mind because McKinney heard the story from someone else.

"This sounds like a game of telephone," Ward said, explaining how a rumor can change as it passes from one person to another. "But to take something that has so many questions attached to it and to treat a rumor as fact is the basis for mass distortion. It's really a good example of Swift-boating."

Ward said McKinney could have easily verified the story by checking prison records.

"This is the kind of rumor that warrants fact-checking," she said.

McKinney's presidential campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

A member of the House for 12 years until 2007, McKinney is no stranger to controversy. Shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, she suggested that President Bush knew about the plot in advance but failed to warn Americans because of his father's business interests. Some political analysts say that statement contributed to her defeat in 2002.

After McKinney was re-elected in 2004, she tried to impeach Bush, Vice President Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on charges that they lied and manipulated intelligence to justify the war in Iraq.

McKinney hit a career low point in 2006 when she was accused of striking a Capitol Police officer who grabbed her after she passed a security checkpoint without wearing a congressional lapel pin. She later apologized for the incident. She was defeated in a Democratic primary later that year and left the Democratic Party in 2007. She was nominated in July to run for president on the Green Party ticket. There are 245 other Green Party candidates running for office this fall.

McKinney for the Greens is worse than Barr for the Libertarians.

And that's saying something.

If I was a Green, this woman would be an incredible embarrassment. But then maybe enough Greens lap up this nonsense that she gets away with it...

With the exception of Nader you could substitute the word American voter for Green party and it would still work.

Because, you know, if the DofD decided to execute 5,000 people, they would for sure dump all the bodies in a Louisiana swamp. Because no one would probably know to look there. They wouldn't just burn the bodies - that would be smelly.

And then, they would totally have the people who dumped the body sign non-disclosure agreements. Because, you know, if they signed that, they wouldn't tell anyone, and stuff.

Well the Green party's out. And Nader IMO is not qualified to be POTUS.

Obama is beginning to look like the only palatible choice, and he represents one of the "status quo" parties that we put in the WH every four years so I'm not expecting much from him.

I think it's part of American tradition that we have whackos running for president. It's something uniquely American. In the 1800s some guy declared himself the King of San Francisco. What did the San Franciscans do? They played along. Got him a crown and some robes. Let him stand on the street corner and pontificate. Even invited him to civic occasions. It went along okay until he tried to declare war on Los Angeles. ;D

Good ol' Emperor Norton.

Good ol' Emperor Norton.

That's Right. It was "Emperor of the United States." I had forgot some of the details of the story:

Joshua A. Norton

So much has been written about Emperor Norton, and interest in this ninteenth-century character continues into the twenty-first century.
Many of the “decrees” attributed to Norton I were fakes; written in jest by newspaper editors at the time for amusement, or for political purposes. Those “decrees” listed here were, we believe, actually issued by Norton.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September 17, 1859 – Joshua A. Norton, who lost his money in an attempt to corner the rice market, today declared himself Norton I, Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico.
December 2, 1859 – Norton I dismissed Gov. Wise of Virginia for hanging John Brown and appointed John C. Breckenridge of Kentucky to replace him.

February 1, 1860 – Decree from Norton I ordered representatives of the different states to assemble at Platt’s Music Hall to change laws to ameloriate the evils under which the country was laboring.

July 16, 1860 – Decree from Norton I dissolved the United States of America.

October 1, 1860 – Decree from Norton I barred Congress from meeting in Washington, D.C.

February 5, 1861– Norton I changed the place of his National Convention to Assembly Hall, Post and Kearny, because Platt’s Music Hall had burned.

September 17, 1861 – A new theater, Tucker’s Hall, opened with a performance of “Norton the First,” or "An Emperor for a Day."

October 1863 – Death of Lazarus, Emperor Norton’s dog.

February 14, 1864 – Norton I arrived in Marysville to join the celebration of the opening of the railroad.

November 11, 1865 – Mark Twain wrote an epitaph for Bummer, the long-time companion of Lazarus.

January 21, 1867 – An overzealous Patrol Special Officer, Armand Barbier, arrested His Majesty Norton I for involuntary treatment of a mental disorder and thereby created a major civic uproar. Police Chief Patrick Crowley apologized to His Majesty and ordered him released. Several scathing newspaper editorials followed the arrest. All police officers began to salute His Majesty when he passed them on the street. Ha!

July 25, 1869 – Decree from Norton I that San Franciscans advance money to Frederick Marriott for his airship experiments.

August 12, 1869 – Decree from Norton I dissolved and abolished the Democratic and Republican parties because of party strife now existing within our realm. !Booya!

December 15, 1869 – Norton I, Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico, left San Francisco to seek his yearly tribute from the legislature and lobbyists. He inspected the new capitol during the gala ball celebrating the buildings’ inauguration.

December 16, 1869 – Decree by Norton I demanded that Sacramento clean its muddy streets and place gaslights on streets leading to the capitol.

August 1, 1870 – Norton I was listed by the Census taker with the occupation of “emperor,” living at 624 Commercial St.

September 21, 1870 – Decree from Norton I that the Grand Hotel furnish him rooms under penalty of being banished.

March 23, 1872 – Decree by Norton I that a suspension bridge be built as soon as convenient between Oakland Point and Goat Island, and then on to San Francisco.

September 21, 1872 – Norton I ordered a survey to determine if a bridge or tunnel would be the best possible means to connect Oakland and San Francisco. He also ordered the arrest of the Board of Supervisors for ignoring his decrees.

January 2, 1873 – Decree from Norton I that a worldwide Bible Convention be held in San Francisco on this day.

March 18, 1873 – David Belasco made his stage debut at the Metropolitan Theatre playing Emperor Norton in the play “The Gold Demon.”

January 8, 1880 – Norton I dropped dead on California St. at Grant Ave. He was on his way to a lecture at the Academy of Natural Sciences.

January 9, 1880 – Headline in the Morning Call: “Norton the First, by the grace of God Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico, departed this life.”

January 10, 1880 – Norton I was buried today at Masonic Cemetery. The funeral cortege was two miles long. 10,000 people turned out for the funeral.

June 30, 1934 – Emperor Norton I reburied in Woodlawn Cemetery by citizens of San Francisco.

January 7, 1980 – The city marked the 100th anniversary of the death of its only monarch, Emperor Norton, with lunch-hour ceremonies at Market and Montgomery streets.

I recommend everybody read Sherman's memoirs. The parts in California are actually the best, AFAIC. They knew how to handle a bunch of fraudulent bankers back in those days. Sherman told how some bankers swindled a bunch of San Franciscans so the people rioted, dragged the bankers out into the street and hung them from gaslights. Sherman watched from the rooftop of one of the banks. One of the greatest memoirs ever, IMO. http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5850

I am not voting for Obama or McCain, but I don't like any of the third party candidates either. Third party voters, who are you rallying behind? I can't stand McKinney or Barr, so it's down to Chuck Baldwin or Ralph Nader. Unfortunately, Baldwin is not on the California ballot.

The fact remains that if Nader had been allowed into the presidential debate back in 2000 he would have won that debate -- going away -- and in the process would have changed American politics.

Nader is a lot smarter on the issues -- than anyone who has inhabited the White House -- since JFK.

Nader would have shredded Bush and Gore. Support for Nader would have jumped off the charts -- overnight.

Face it -- whatever you think of the man -- a Nader administration would have averted all of the disasters of the Bush years.

My own feeling is that the power elite who run America made a decision in 2000 to exclude Nader from the pres debates because he was just too dangerous.

The evidence, i.e., the known facts about Able Danger, indicates that the covert planning for the 9/11 attack was already underway in 2000 -- BEFORE Bush ever entered office.

Of course, the neo cons were only too eager to benefit from the plan to terrorize the American people -- and Clinton was also corrupt and easily controlled. This might even explain why the Supreme Court picked Bush over Gore. Hard to be sure -- but it's certainly possible.

America is a cess pool -- and if we knew the truth about the behind the scenes dealings and manipulations we would all become heart sick.

But someone like Nader -- with intregrity -- was just not corruptible -- would never have stood for a covert operation like 9/11 - and so at all cost had to be kept out of the loop -- hence out of the pres debates -- which of course killed his candidacy.

Looking back -- things do make sense -- in retrospect. So sad that the American people are so easily hoodwinked.

That goes triple for the knee jerks who inhabit this board. Their language of ridicule has one cause -- fear of the dark.
