This is really tragic:

Nearly four weeks after a shooting that left Jags offensive tackle Richard Collier fighting for his life, details have emerged regarding his condition.

At a Monday press conference, it was announced that Collier suffered 14 bullet wounds on the morning of September 2. He sustained five to his bladder and two to his lower spine, which left him paralyzed from the waist down.

A blood clot later developed, requiring the amputation of his left leg, above the knee.

“It is with my deepest regret that Collier’s career with the NFL is over,” his agent, Jeff Jankovich, said. ”Now Richard has a very difficult journey ahead of him but he is up to the challenge. His spirits are positive and he has a lot of support from his family and friends. His family wanted to keep the situation under wraps so that Richard would be the first to know. Richard is a kind and generous man and now he needs our thoughts and prayers.”

“It’s a great tragedy for a young man to have such a bright future, at the top of the food chain, to have not only his career but his health taken away,” coach Jack Del Rio said.

If the police want to find the shooters, all they gotta do is put some pressure on the skanky hoes who were involved. They gotta know something.

You know reading this makes me feel guilty for feeling bad for the Chiefs loss. This guy's lost his ability to walk because some bad people were trying to exploit him.

agreed.

as an aside, that 'at the top of the food chain' analogy seems slightly outta line.

if you are going to critique everything outside of your little world to determine your emotions, then why live. I am bummed out for this guy but I am not dwelling on it as I have no control of the situation and personally it doesnt concern me. Should I not had a good time with friends on Saturday knowing that Paul Newman died? Dont be a Debbie Downer as you have every right to feel bad about the Chiefs beating us. You invest personal feelings towards the Broncos and you wear it on your sleeve. Say a prayer for the guy and hope he can at least come back from being paralyzed.

That's pretty classy. Let's call people out for feeling bad for a guy for getting shot. You officially suck.

Just like Steve Foley, except Steve got shot by an off duty police officer. Foley is still hurt and screwed up, but everyone has forgotten about him.

Sad stuff these guys getting shot, at least they still have their lives unlike the late Darrent Williams.

boy did you read into wrong. Here I am telling you it is ok to still feel like crap on the loss based on something you have no control over and you completely missed the point. Never mind. Keep having those guilty feelings anytime something bad happens outside your personal world. I will say a prayer for Collier and keep living, laughing and enjoying life with my friends and family.
