I was so depressed after that game. The energy Elway gave us on that comeback with his spike in the endzone. I remember watching that game from a bar and seeing how much time was left on the clock (maybe 1:16) and thought, "Way too much time for our defense to try to stop Montana!" Sure enough, Waters defense F ed up big time. We started 0 and 4 that year and had a chance to be the first team to go at least .500 after an 0 and 4 start but the Saints pounded us on the 23rd of December. My first game ever seen at Mile High.

Montana always did own Elway.

It takes a couple of 'rented' HOFamers to finally beat the Broncos eh? Even then it had to be 'come from behind' :D

I feel no need to punish myself. That game was as painful as any Bronco game besides the superbowls....

Bob is in the thread??

Broncos had an invisible running game, and avg. defense, opposed to the cheif HOF players in allen, montana, thomas, etc..and they barely escaped with a win. Mount it on your mum's mantle fatty!

Notice he's not wearing a chefs jersey in that picture. Amazing what happens when you're not surrounded by HOF talent. Not to mention a HOF coach.

Friggin' Hilliard pissed me off on a weekly basis, and was out of position on the winning pass.

The 1993 game against the Chiefs was a much better game. Of course Elway and company led Denver to a comeback win!!!!

D looks familier, like rhodes a few years ago or freakin last week. rush 3 drop 8 and pray. of course even champ cant cover for 4-5 seconds. even back then we all said take a chance and blitz and knock montana on his ass. better to get burned all at once then drop 8 back and Slow Burnt

The best thing about watching that game was seeing the magic that was Mile High. What electricity. Even knowing the Broncos lost that game I still watched it to the end because you just never know what's gonna happen. Who knows, I thought, perhaps the Broncos win this time...

I was at this game in the north endzone no less sitting with two of my friends who are chef fans...

I can still see that IDIOT randy hillard letting kimble anders get out of bounds on that last drive...

Ug! that 94 defense was so bad I could have led the chefs on that drive....

Poor Wade. That post game pressconference was BR00TAL...He knew it was over, right then, right there....

Its on again right now. That pass rush looks eerily similar to ours today. Another note is Cutler is very much like Elway in that he doesn't like screw ups and isn't afraid to vocalize it.

That is one of the only times I will make a direct comparison.

Oh and Jerry Markbreit was the worst official in football. I had almost wiped him from my memory.

That was that **********s name.

I had forgotten all about his dumbassery until I watched 90% of that game last night (I refuse to watch the ending of that game ever again).

Why don't they ever show Elways 17 point comeback in the final minutes against KC?

Montana always did own Elway. And I'll ALWAYS know that if Montana had played for Denver while Elway went to SF, the 49'rs still win those SBs while Montana retires early.

October 4th 1992

This game embodied the ethos I have carried throughout my like as a fan. I've watched every Bronco game from start to finish(except the Super Bowl against the 49ers, I just couldn't) because I felt the Broncos always had a chance with Elway. The Broncos were down 19-6 at the two minute warning. John Elway threw two touchdowns in the final two minutes to give the Broncos their most daunting comeback in franchise history. Undoubtedly to never be repeated or matched in our lifetimes.

I'll never forget that game as long as I live..

Good times...........good times....

1992 was even better. down 19-6 with 2 minutes left and Elway brought us all the way back.
