Ok, I think that in addition to their regular choices, the Broncos currently have three extra picks in '09. I don't know what round those picks are in, or what teams they are coming from. Can someone help me out, here? What I'm thinking is that with 10 rookies on this season's team, the Broncos don't need a lot in terms of volume from next year's draft, and that perhaps some picks could be packaged to move to the top of the draft and pick up the giant lineman from Alabama or the middle linebacker from USC. Then or course, go defense throughout the draft. Anyone know exactly where we stand in terms of picks?
EDIT: having just looked at Tex Schram's draft value chart, I guess there's virtually no way to get into the top three or four picks in the draft. I still would like to know exactly what picks the Broncos do have for '09. I'd like to see them move as high as possible and get a top pass rusher or MIKE.

The ones from Foxy and Colbert are dependent upon them gaining certain criteria.

As of now, I think its 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7
but the trade for Robertson had a conditional pick involved. The extra 5 and 7 could turn into better picks.

I'm all for packaging up some pics in order to trade up and get a blue chip defensive lineman.
Don't waste your time trading up for a LBer. That's just dumb.

I think the butter zone is between rounds 8 and 14. Anyything before is too pricy, anything after is too variable.

I would love to see us go safety in round 1. Unless the wheels come off we will draft in the bottom 10 picks in each round and I am just not too kean on trading away picks to move up unless there is a good deal to be had or a special talent who comes into reach.
