i gotta go with brandon marshall. jay cutler is amazing and has an arm few have had in this league before, but brandon marshall in only his 3rd year is taking the WR position to a level that may have never been seen before.

I would have to say Jay Cutler. My reasoning, the QB positions is the most complex and stressful in football. The WR just has to go out and make plays. The QB has to set that play up for success. The QB has to read defenses and audible and look of defenders to set his WR up for success. Cutler is 10 times better than Marshall right now.

Marshall, runs perfect routes and rarely drops balls.

Marshall

He is already elite. He can flat out take over games and dominate.
Cutler is playing very well, but I wouldnt say he is an elite qb.

But the Cutler to Marshall connection looks really really good so far

Cutler can get better (as scary as that is) than Marshall can get. At least I think that's the case. Marshall's already a top 5 receiver in the league. Good grief if Marshall was any better he'd be illegal.

Ok I voted Cutler but I see your points. Marshall is nasty but imagine if he had the spot mastered like Rice or Rod? God that is like a wet dream

I think these things about Cutler:
3rd best footwork in football behind Manning and Brady
Best arm amongst starting QBs
Throws the second hardest ball to tip in the NFL behind Roth (high release point)
Tied for 2nd most mobile amongst high level QBs (with Romo)
One of five QBs that can consistently hit every throw on the field
Has as much or more touch than every QB other than Palmer, Manning, Brady and Favre
Shows a Knack for making the big play

That said, his decision making and timing are still behind the elites, he's not yet "savy" at looking guys off, he doesn't use the cadense to his advantage as much as he can and his gunslinger mentality of always taking a deep 1on1 route over an uncovered underneath pattern that guarantees a first down gets him into trouble every once in a while.

I'd say he grades out between 5 and 10 in the NFL with the ability to become the leagues most exciting QB.

I look at Marshall i see:
Biggest receiver in the NFL
He grabs the ball with his fingers, extends his arms - rare for a guy that can rely on athleticism...
Body control similar to that of Chris Chambers, which is to say - insane.
Does a great job of tracking the deep ball
Also is very good at working back to the ball and protecting it

He doesn't run the cleanest routes yet and there are plenty of little things that he can still learn to improve his ability to make a play especially on the deep balls. Consistency is amazing for a 3rd year wide out.

As of right now, I don't know that there is more than 1 receiver in the NFL who can even play at Marshall's level. The quickness and body control to size ratio in Marshall i would say is above even Boldin. I'd say only Moss is as impressive of an athlete, Calvin Johnson, maybe...

But with Johnson playing with the likes of Kitna; and Moss getting Cassell and likely a lesser Brady next year (knee injuries bother QB's for years) as he nears his twilight... I expect Marshall to take over the NFL today and not look back for the next 6 to 8 years.

Marshall clearly now ... though Cutler's gaining fast.

if hes not a bronco for every one of them, all respect i ever had for this organization is gone.

I voted Marshall

...and to think people were freaking out in the off-season. Also acting like doctors that knew about the severity of his arm and how he would suck as a result.

I'm hoping for a Peyton/Harrison thing for the next few years.

i hope so. having only been a serious broncos fan for 3-4 years, ive never had the opportunity to "grow" with a player as it were. to see them from day 1 of their NFL career to being a super all planet player, hes easily my favorite bronco player.

Last year was definitely a Peyton-Harrison year ... at least for Marshall.

As of this moment in time this season both are playing like the best player at each of their positions.
Jay is without question the top QB in the league right now and Marshall is the best WR playing right now.

Completely severing a nerve and tendon is serious in terms of mobility... No medical professional will disagree on that.

It's amazing that he is able to play this well.

Makes me wonder if he could have done better if he didn't injure his forearm.

The guy is 2nd in catches and yards in the league.

After missing one game... WTF

What the future holds - Jay

Right now - Brandon

Brandon is elite right now imo. The skies the limit for Jay in the future. While most would like to see them both here until they retire, the reality is that it's far more likely with Jay. I could see Brandon following the money else where in the (hopefully) distant future.

Jay loves Marshall as his WR...

Jay has stated many times in the past that Marshall is his primary weapon and target in the offense when Javon walker was still the number one WR for us.

This almost seems to be a two part poll. Like who is better now, and who has the higher ceiling. That's at least how i read it with this post attached.

There's a poster - SouthStandsJunkie - he's often stated that of Marshall can get his **** together and be productive - he could have a shot at being a HOF talent.

If I take SSJ at his word - that means cutler would have to have a level to reach that high.

As of right now - i think brandon is better.
