OK. I have been debating this in my mind. How valuable is a Franchise QB? When we had Plummer, what would you have given up for Manning? Franchise QB's do not come around often. What would it take for the fins, or whoever to get J. Cutler away from the Broncos. 3 first rounders and 2 second rounders? I am really have no idea how to value a franchise QB in draft assets.

Tough to say, because I can't imagine any team trading away a bonafide franchise QB that isn't over the hill.
I mean, another team could offer us 5 first round draft picks for Cutler, and I wouldn't take it.

I would trade Jay Cutler for the 2000 Ravens Defense(at the time)...and 3 first round picks.

There are maybe 6 true franchise QB's in the NFL Cutler, Manning, Brady, Rothlisberger, Palmer, Romo
That means there are 26 teams who would benefit from getting any one of these guys. In each years NFL draft there are maybe 3-4 QB's who become decent starters and MAYBE 1 who becomes a franchise QB. That makes the franchise QB almost invaluable. There is no guarantee that a team could trade away their franchise QB for 5 or even 10 1st round picks and be guaranteed that they get a worthy replacement.
So there is no way in hell a package could come along that would even make me think to trade away Jay.
It took Denver almost a full decade from our last franchise QB to find a guy who can be the new franchise QB for the Broncos.

Franchise QBs are untradeable. There is nothing more valuable and no way to compensate.
Right now if a team tried to trade for Tom Brady, even though he is hurt and may never be the same, they STILL wouldn't possibly be able to offer enough to entice NE to give him up.
