Denver is facing the Saints for the first time since it defeated New Orleans 34-13 on the road during the 2004 season. The Saints will make their first visit to Denver since participating in the first-ever game at INVESCO Field at Mile High during the 2001 preseason.

The Broncos lead the NFL in total offense (463.5 ypg.), points per game (40.0), total touchdowns (10) and first downs (58). Cutler has posted the most passing yards (650) in the league through Week 2, becoming just the third Denver quarterback to begin a season with two 300-yard games. Denver has forced its opponents to start 14 of their 19 drives at or inside the 20-yard line while ranking third in the league in opponent average starting field position (21.5-yard line).

I believe NO will bring something this week that we have yet to see to test both our young OL and Cutler --- defensive pressure from the best DL we have seen to date plus some serious blitzing. Our composure will be tested.

We need to set the tone early. If we're on offense we need to do somethign to catch them off guard. Maybe start pounding the run if Shanny thinks they are now expecting an aerial assault after the first two weeks. Maybe just come out firing passes all over.

Either one can work as long as we come out ultra aggressive. If we come out sluggish and they blitz the crap out of us it's going to be tough. That said, i am expecting a win today. 34-27. Pittman strikes again and so does the Scheff.

I expect to see a ton of shotgun from the Broncos on O today. With NO's secondary banged up - it'll be throw 1st, 2nd and 3rd. One little nugget to consider, not only does Jay love the shotgun (he said in his presser this week he's like to be in it every play) but Selvin has a ton of experience as a RB in the gun from his years in Texas. In fact, a majority of his big plays thus far in the NFL have come from the gun.

IMO I don't see this game being very close. We either shut them down and put them away or they rack up big plays yac's and beat us.

After watching the first two games, I'm concerned with our vulnerabilities due to the lack of pressure on the QB. To compensate for this, the coaching staff has been disguising their man coverages in very creative ways to try and blitz LBer's. But in doing so leave us vulnerable to screen type plays.

Bush is the perfect type RB to exploit us in this way.

I think our defense is ok against the run up the middle and we have enough speed on one side with DJ for the perimeter.

It's more the quick passing game, in particular passing to TEs and number2/3 WRs. Couple that with wide open screen plays and you've pretty much got a gameplan any offense can execute against us.

You take a look at how the defense HAS stepped up against the run up the middle. We're much stouter and DJ is holding the fort on perimeter plays while Bailey is ok enough as well.

It's a start but ultimately we've got to be able to execute and tackle a lot better against the pass.
Either our Safeties have to step up and do a much better job against the TEs/RBs catching the ball or we somehow start producing consistent pass rush.

I don't see either one happening this season to be honest.
