Yeah, but half the problem for these CBs is really Cutler ... he rifles the ball into such tight windows, even close coverage gets burned.

So long as Cutler and his receivers keep getting time to set up the patterns, a lot of opposing cornerbacks are going to have tough days.
It's not like we don't know the feeling (as fans, anyway.)

We all know that Marshall can play, but even if it was Jerry Rice out there, giving up 16 completions or whatever it was is unacceptable. The writer wanted to write an article about Cromartie hoping to bounce back. Not a Brandon Marshall fluff piece.

SD got no pressure. None. Last year they got pressure on the Qb and had no problem stopping the run. He was an all-pro, this year reality is setting in. SD's run D is weak. They are playing more of a run stop D, He ain't going to be that good if he has to cover a guy for 10 seconds.

Yeah, but while he's listing all these other reasons for not playing well they could have also mentioned one of the biggest: the guy he was covering is one of the better WRs in the NFL right now and Cromartie would have had his hands more than full regardless of his family or his hip.

The Chargers line up their corners on the right and left side. They almost never assign a corner to a specific player. Marshall was on the left side for most of the game where they could pick on Cromartie.
The Panthers picked on Cromartie all day long as well. Teams will continue to pick on Cromartie until he steps it up.

Good God, am I the only one who sees a pattern here?
Week 1: DeAngelo Hall, $70 million CB gets picked on relentlessly. Gets so upset that he commits stupid personal fouls. Yet, despite the fact that Royal is killing him over and over, he's just left out there.
Week 2: Cromartie, another high profile pro-bowl CB, gets picked on relentlessly. Gets so upset that he commits a stupid personal foul. Drops an interception. Despite the fact that Marshall is beating him over and over, no adjustments are made.
Cutler and his gang are like a pack of school yard bullies, just picking out one kid, each lunch hour and just beating him over and over while all the other kids stand around, picking their noses, and saying wow, dude, you got handled. What's wrong with you? We thought you were a tough guy.
Part of what's going on is that Denver's O has the defenses confused and shifting and drifting away to different parts of the school yard leaving one guy to take the beating ... all. day. long.
Charger fans can't blame this on Cromartie alone. He was just the victim de jour.

Can't complain about holding this year. The refs are simply not calling holding. I heard there were only twenty or so holding penalties called in week one and that was with a number of rookie o-linemen making starts.
