I was listening to the BS report last night in which Mike Lombardi participated. They spoke about the Broncos D very briefly and Lombardi mentioned how Dre Bly looked incredibly slow.
Anyone notice anything?

yeah, IMO he looks like that all the time.

I don't know about that. I thought Bly looked pretty good last week. He stuck his nose in run support, and I don't remember him giving up any substantial passes.

he gave up a few to Gates...he didn't play any worse than the rest of the defense, which isn't saying much at all

Bly doesn't have exceptional speed for a CB but he does have above-average coverage technique and exceptional instincts. He's always going to be a guy susceptible to the bomb because of his average speed, but there have been a lot of successful CB's that carry the same trait.
I came to truly admire Bly's skills this past game at San Diego when I was sitting up high in the end zone, essentially getting the "coaches-tape" view. As both team's OL's were dominating, I focused in on the secondary and quite frankly - Bly outplayed Champ by a mile. He blanketed Vincent Jackson very well for a majority of the game and was in position for several pass-break ups or possible interceptions had Rivers gone that way. Gates grabbed a few in zone between he and Manual - but nothing too major. While Bly's instincts always have him wanting to go for the pick, he actually plays the scheme (up until the ball is in the air) with better integrity than Champ. He played an excellent game, about as well as a CB can play in today's Offense-On-Steroids NFL.
After attending camp nearly every day, breaking down all of the preseason games and both of our games thus far. Bly's off to a better start than Champ this season, IMO. We're lucky to have him. A lesser CB would be beaten like a dog, or Paymah I could say.

Gates was like 4 for 60 with a long of 25. I'd say that isn't bad at all really.

Those weren't all with Bly on him.

Exactly, Bly was one of the bright spots on Defense. Which is why he needs to be on the outside. Get him out of the slot.

Bly is fine, when Champ is your other CB he is gonna get tested and give up some catches, but he is a fine #2 CB.

Bly has looked fine and i think we would be better off moving him outside instead of the slot, taking Paymah off the field and seeing if JMFW is better at the slot position.

Sproles made him look like a D-limeman.

In nickel the corners cover TE's fairly often.

I always thought Bailey would've been a better matchup. He seemed to do well on Gonzalez whenever we played KC
