The only time we see snow here in San Jose is when we make the four hour drive to the ski lodge. Fall and early winter is the best time of year here in No Cal. Crisp, cool, 50-70 degrees, not a cloud in the sky!

I was thinking of vegas, but I'll melt out there, maybe Placerville or in the Lake tahoe area...Im not sure yet, im gonna ride out Cali for another year or two, but I want to be settled in before my daughter is school age.

Friends of mine here that moved out from Illinois also,a year ago,tell me with the almost nonexistant humidity 110 here beats mid 90s back home.....They tell me you get used to it really fast..Í believe it......I've seen mid 90s here and there's no comparison....

Dude, Im originaly from quincy, I KNOW HUMIDITY! your right though, the vegas weather is much better than the southern Ill freak show. You know, 100 degrees high humidity in the summer, four feet of snow in the winter, high winds, sideways rain, floods......man..I tell ya...I grew up here in No cal, and I thank my pops for the move every chance I get.

Well, its not like three feet of snow is big in the south..... But I know what you mean. Everytime I see a plate from a midwest state or some backwater state like Mississippi, I always know to get away as fast as possible. Driving in the crappy traffic around here is a much diffrent experiance than driving anywhere else.

LOL, you should see the wide eyes of someone new to town, or passing through. They look scared out of thier minds! White knuckling the steering wheel, looking around, trying to get around the 18 wheelers that are trying to get around them cause they are plugging up the only lane thats moving. Missing the exits cause they wait till they are a mile away or less to get over, then trying to circle back only to find out that you can't exit that street going the opposite direction and there isn't another exit for 5 miles, and ending up exiting university ave east toward east palo alto, and getting lost near the dumbarton bridge, in the worst nieborhood in the USA, then going across the bridge to get away, only to find themselves on an even crappier freeway headed toward the south bay and no way to turn around right before they get pulled over a ticketed by the CHP for driving in the carpool lane wich began three miles back suddenly and they didn't notice. LOL

It was a beautiful 82 degrees here.
No humidity, slight breeze from the bay.
And to top it all off, a Vanilla Sky to end the day.
I do not envy those who live where it snows.
You know, come to think of it, there is one perk I miss from living near the mountains in winter and that is snow bunnies.
Oh well, I got beach bunnies to deal with here so I suppose that is some consolation.

Since this thread isn't going anywhere, I think I will tell a story.
There once was a seed. Small, somewhat round and smooth, with a brownish-grey color. It was a proud seed, from proud parents, Mary Jane Sativa and her husband Fatty Lumpkin Sativa.
One day, this proud seed fell from its mothers' protective care and tumbled to the ground. It lay there, wondering what would become of it for three whole days. It was terrified, not knowing what to expect, but then the rain came and when the rain stopped, the seed found itself in a nice, warm, cozy layer of earth, with just enough air and sunlight.
A few more days passed and the seed, who had grown very comfortable in its new surroundings, discovered that it was broke! Its protective shell had broken and part of itself was coming out of the shell. The proud seed panicked at first, but later realized that it was OK, this was supposed to happen because it could feel the water from the soul seeping into this new root.
After several days of growing, the proud seed had transformed itself It had grown into a sprout and was setting off on its six month journey to adulthood.
Week by week passed, and the proud plant began to devolop complex leaf clusters. Some had five leaves, some had seven leaves and some of the biggest ones had nine leaves. It grew tall, and straight and you could tell that this was a proud plant indeed! It branched out from its central stem and became bushy as well as tall.
One day, the proud plant was thinking to itself. It thought, "I should give myself a name." So, taking after its mother, because it had decided it would be female so that it could make its own seedlings, she named herself Mary Jane.
Mary Jane continued to grow until one day she underwent another physical changer. Her leaf clusters began to grow buds around them until eventually, all of her branches were covered in buds. She had been a proud plant since she was a seedling and was under the nurturing care of her mother and now she was a proud plant parent. Though she did not know who the father was, she suspected Bomb Marley or Indica Joe.
Then, terror struck. For, Indica Joe, then Lady Ganja and Bomb Marley and the Hooter twins. Each one was suddenly and visciously chopped down by strange beasts that walked on two legs. Mary Jane, the proud plant parent, was terrified for her seedlings. She knew her time was up but she wanted to make sure her seedlings would be safe.
When the strange beasts came to her, they gently removed Mary Jane's seedlings from her and then, with one fell stroke, chopped her down.
But, one seedling, just one, escaped. It had fallen as the strange beasts grabbed Mary Jane and was hidden under a fallen leave. Mary Jane saw her seedling as it fell and as she took her dying breath, she knew that all was right in the world.

NNW Iowa, they were talking about a foot here, but it's still jut a dusting. Still talking 3-5 but this storm moved much faster than they thought and has gone north of me into Central Minnesota.
I better not be too confident, I just looked outside and its lightly snowing finally, but it was supposed to start hours ago. It's still pretty warm as well, in the 28 degrees F. @3:30 am.

#3 I have all sorts of crap out in my field right now. (It's stuff I'm going to do something with I swear)
#5 Just torched part of the pasture 2 months ago. I was gathering brush and tumbel weeds etc...and finally said fugg it. Broke out the gas can and a barrel and burned a ton of stuff. Put the fire out before anybody called the fire dept. Also I don't mow my lawn the goats do it for me.

#15 Last load I got 19 in the Dodge. Looked like a beverly hillbilly going down I-25 into Denver. I had to stop by my attorneys office for a quick meeting. I got some weird looks downtown.
