Based on what exactly. I had heard an interesting rumor about Syracuse being interested in Kiffin should he be let go.

Kiffin will be yet another young coach that was fired/run off by crazy Al to go on to have great success else where

are you really this stupid? you realize lane has to ACCEPT the position, the broncos cant just call him and say "youre with us now"

and right now, neither of those things would happen.

If that should happen, get ready for the inevitable 'Greg Robinson Coming Back To Broncos' threads...

I guess I don't see Callahan as being young when he was canned. Shanny, Gruden and Kiffen were/are all in their 30s.

You don't think Lane would want top learn under Shanny the rest of the year just to get that Raider smell off him?

If he doesn't want to go to college and If Shanny offered he'd probably accept. Can you imagine what Faider fan would say? Ahh, it would be great. That being said I would think that it would be too much of adistraction. denver doesn't need any distractions at this point.

What does Lane Kiffin have to offer to the Broncos?

Has he impressed you with anything he has done (other than telling Al to screw himself?).

Maybe Shanahan wants to stick it to Al.

Maybe Kiffen wants to join a successful offense's staff for a year so he has some credibility going into the open market after this season.

Maybe those two maybes add up to him coming here as some sort of "Assistant Head Coach in charge of coordinating handoffs".

But I doubt it.

Why is he Shannyz replacement??

Kiffin is going back to college...........Where he has full control of things and dont have to work hard to convince kids

I could see Kiffin being brought into Denver in a few years. But right now he would need to be signed as an Offensive Coordinator, or offensive coach, and we obviously don't need to do anything with the offense right now.
in a few years though, i might be more interested.

The only effect this will have will absolutely guarantee ( NOBODY) i mean nobody of any quality coaching skills will work for AL hes adding years of futility to that organization (years)

Do people really think he's going to come to Denver as some assistant offensive coach making 150k a year, when he could go back to college and make 3 or 4 million a year?

Think, people.

If he wants an NFL gig he might have the options of Bengals, Rams, Chiefs, even SD if they get Norv'd too much. There are probably other vacancies I'm not thinking of but he will be a HC in the NFL in the future I believe. I could see him going to Tampa with Gruden and his Dad before coming to Denver.

Worst kept secret in the NFL... Lane would have been fired Sunday night, but the Chef's are so bad the Faid won the damn game.

Both Al an Rob Ryan want kid Kif gone.

Hell, Lane might not even be allowed on the plane back home from Buffalo.

Isn't Crazy Al a Syracuse Alum and huge contributor? I doubt Kiffen ends up there.

So do we pick him up so he can show us that great playbook then we can finally beat this team, the Raiders? I mean, last time we played them w/o Lane Kiffin on our sidelines, we had one hell of a time playing to their ability. Hope we can learn the Raiders lingo so we can maximize our potential and finally beat this top contender of the AFC West. Thanks Rob for the insight. First post I make is on this. Hope they get better. At least some of the answers from you guys were very humorous.

He could come in as a waterboy, then Shanny could fire him in the off season as the reason we didn't make the playoffs.

Has he impressed you with anything he has done (other than telling Al to screw himself?).

Not really, but you are not giving that enough credit.

I still think he'd do well at Penn St. Go hang out with Joe Pa for a year or two and then take over a huge college program that offers you an opportunity to stay for the next 30 years. I truly believe that Lane would be a good fit at Penn St. It would make me happy!!!

OR perhaps...the CHIEFS???

I think Kiffin hurt his career by being too critical in the media, would be suprised if he gets another high level coaching job soon.

Everyone knows the way Al Davis runs things so he should of expected it before he signed on. I think he should have followed what Shannahan and Gruden did and just move on without saying much. Its clear Davis is off his rocker Kiffin doesn't need to have interviews to tell his side of the story. I think thats a big mistake.

I would be all for bringing in Kiffin as an assistant head coach.

What's the worst that can happen? Who knows, maybe he is a good coach and could help us get to the Playoffs.
