Guys… can we slow down and get a little realistic here? Not to excuse a blown call by the officials, but does anyone care if San Diego stops them on 3rd or 4th down, or for the 2 point conversion? Did the Chargers make some great play that I missed or did the ball just pop out of Jay’s hand? People are acting like situations like this don’t happen EVERY game. Let’s take last night’s game for example. Why aren’t people banging doors down on the blown Pass Interference call that gave the Eagles the ball on the 1, when it should’ve been offensive PI? Answer: Because the Cowboys won in spite of the call and it wasn’t in the waning seconds. If that call happens with 00:12 seconds on the clock and the Eagles win it, those refs are on the execution block with Hochuli, but it didn’t, so Hochuli’s on the stand alone. Nevermind the flagrantly illegal blocks to the back that weren’t called on both Sproles kick return TD and his TD scamper. As the league office says, “Calls even themselves out”. As the great coaches say, “Great teams find a way to win”.

In summary, Norv and the Chargers could be best served by the “immortal words” of Fergie (sarcasm button off, now), “Big girls don’t cry.”

If the context seems odd in regards to this site, it's a cut and paste e-mail I just sent out.

Uh I dont give a crap about a blown call. It happens every game and a win is a win. I dont feel guilty at all.

The Broncos have had their share of blown calls or missed calls over the years. I think why this call is blowing up... is because Ed Hochuli (the ref) admitted his mistake and by the rules there was nothing he could do about it.

My hat goes off to Hochuli for standing up.

I certainly don't feel bad. There were missed calls on a lot of plays, the better team won.

the game was lost, but the ref saved us, we still had to score on two of the next 3 plays and we did. chargers deserve the L

Hochuli, regardless of the media's 2 days worth of complaining, is probably still the best ref the NFL has. He promptly admitted the mistake but can't change the rules.

I think someone here talked about that play where Jackson caught the ball and then spiked it, wasn't called a fumble.

It wasn't for the game winning score or anything, calls go your way sometimes, in this case I dont feel bad for SD.

To be fair if the situation was reversed we'd be enraged, but since the shoe is on the other foot I agree with everything you have said.

And I think our defence will improve as the season progresses.

Rewind to Chicago last year and read the posts. Enraged, sorta, but more upset about Hester, as SD and the media should be more upset about Cromartie doing his best Karl Paymah impression.

True. On ESPiN yesterday, after talking about the call and the 2 point conv, Michael Smith tore the SD defence to pieces, which was fun to watch.

The 1st time in all of the conversations yesterday and Sunday night I'd heard them talk about either D. Even during MNF they started talking about the Dallas D being poor, although that may have been lost in the mire after Kornhole made his Mexican "joke"...

Merrill Hoge pointed out that Hochuli's position on the field relative to Cutler and the real time speed of the play made it seem to be an incomplete pass so he blew the whistle.

Come on Casino why do you always start out with decent posts then digress? Stop being a prick on the internet and just talk football. Or is your punk ass to scared to be tough in the real world so you are overcompensating?
