Bush 'approved' Pakistan attacks
President George W Bush has authorised US military raids against militants inside Pakistan without prior approval from Islamabad, the BBC has learned.
An unnamed senior Pentagon official told the BBC the classified order had been made within the past two months.
On Wednesday, the US's top military commander said strategy in Afghanistan was shifting to include raids across the border into Pakistan.
Pakistan has said it will not allow foreign forces on to its territory.
The Pakistani ambassador to the US has disputed the claim, first reported in the New York Times.
"In our bilateral discussions, no such idea has been mooted and will certainly not be accepted by Pakistan," Husain Haqqani told Reuters.
If that's where OBL is, how do you propose we eliminate his ass?

Another example of Obama being the smartest man in the room. He's been saying we need to go into Pakistan, but we need to do so with Pakistani assistance and approval. To get that we'd offer civil assistance, not just military aid like we currently do.
With Pakistan supporting our endavors into their country we can be much more brazen in our raids, knowing that the Pakistani military can hold the southern front of the war on militants leaving no path for escape.

Another example of Obama being the smartest man in the room. He's been saying we need to go into Pakistan, but we need to do so with Pakistani assistance and approval. To get that we'd offer civil assistance, not just military aid like we currently do.
With Pakistan supporting our endavors into their country we can be much more brazen in our raids, knowing that the Pakistani military can hold the southern front of the war on militants leaving no path for escape.

while you are correct , if Pakistan doesnt allow us , we got to do what we got to do ...... Dont like it , but it is better then letting OBL run loose , I never did buy that line that OBL is just a figure head ....... I almost wanted to spit on the so called Americans that repeated that lie ......

even so , OBL has to be caught , I dont disagree with McCain on this , I wont vote for McCain on this , but I agree with him ........ we should never let opinion sway our right to get justice .......

Problem is they most aren't going to work with us, and mostly likely some in the intelligence agency and military will be aiding the terrorists.
I have no hope that the Pakistani military or the border police are able to effective police and control areas outside the tribal zone.
It fine line, but Bush made the right call right now, you need to hit the C2 and logistic tail in Pakistan that is supporting the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

After all BB , what sane leader would give safe Haven to OBL after 9-11 ? If I am charge of Pakistan , I at least tell OBL .find a new place to hang your hat boy , you done wore out your welcome here ......

Problem is Spider, the government in Islamabad doesn't control the federated tribal regions. It freaking Medievil only the bad guys have AK-47s

Most of their citizens probably support bin laden to some degree but it is their country not ours to attack.

Just to clear this up , I am not saying go in guns a blazing , house to house search , nor do we do this by surprise , we start laying the ground work now , start building the bridge , that way when OBL pops his head out of the skunk hole he is hiding in , someone will be there to put a new azzhole right between his eyes ......and if Pakistan doesnt work with us , oh well , we are doing what we can to bring a known criminal in several countries to justice ......

they may have nukes , but they are not long range nukes ....... Pakistans Nukes are mainly for India and vice versa

China and Russia has been offering them longer range missiles and we don't know if they have them yet.

well here is what we do know , the Nukes 15-20 Kg of material per warhead , we also know the war heads are stored in a different pace then the delivery system ...... the question is , how fast could Pakistan put em together , their range , and would Pakistan use them .........
