Broncos' Marshall sentenced to year of probation for drunken-driving charge

DENVER -- Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in a drunken-driving case and was sentenced to a year of probation.

Marshall pleaded guilty Friday to driving while ability-impaired. He was originally charged with driving under the influence after his October 2007 arrest.

Marshall's attorney didn't immediately return a call.

Prosecutors say Marshall must pay $1,100 in fees and fines and will likely be required to serve 24 hours of community service and attend alcohol-treatment classes and a victim-impact panel.

The NFL suspended Marshall for three games for his off-field behavior, but later reduced it to one game. He missed the team's opener against Oakland, but is expected to play Sunday against San Diego.

I don't know if people in this thread are serious or not, but his 1 game suspension was based on the scrapes he was previously involved in, including this one. This is just the way this is being dealt with by the legal system. It's nothing new, and not a further problem.

Will likely be sentenced to? It's an illegal sentence if the judge doesn't since it's kind of required by law that he peform at least 24 hours, take the classes, and go to one victim impact panel meeting. Its a common plea in Colorado. First time offenders get offered to plea down by the DA. Again the league can't do anything on a first time DUI and besides the league took this into account with the first suspension.

BMarsh should NOT have plead guilty to the reduced charge...he should have maned up and plead guilty to the DUI and whatever else the DA saw fit to charge him with. He needs to be accountable.

I dunno, I'm no PC expert. But I do know that the page will not let you close out of it unless you click the "ok" button that pops up about a million times, reboot, or shut down IE completely. That could cause someone to lose valuable information if they haven't saved.

IMO any webpage that you can't make go away by simply clicking the X should not be posted here, especially when people browse from work.

You can't stop it in IE. If you attempt to go to another page a box pops up with a line from the text quoted below.
Try closing that box and the next line pops up. I had to F11 to get the darned guy from jumping from corner to corner on my laptop screen. Thank GOD I had the volume muted so I could pay attention to the hard drive activity-

Sassy. As your laptop is still under warranty, call tech support and let them try and get you up and running. They may have some 'remote' capabilities that will allow them to fix the problem.
It also may be an issue unique to that laptop series.....and a fix may be available.
As annoying as the Rickroll site is, I doubt it was the cause of the fatal error, but more likely it hit or triggered bug in your system somehow.
Trying to recover from a shutdown as you've described is best done via your warranty.
You'll do better with some expert assistance on the phone.

I found out that if you go to a crash site like the rick roll smouch.net/lol, when you close it, instead of being unable to close it, you can stop the messages coming and close that tab.

And overheating is actually pretty common in laptops... Sassy should check on that because that's what probably happened.

1 Power the laptop off.

2 Power it on and then hold the F8 key down when it boots.

3 Then select "last known good config" from the menu.

If that does not work repeat steps 1 & 2

then select "Safe mode" from the list. It should boot into safe mode.

You said initially you have vista on both computers correct? Did your other computer come with a disc? If so, you can install that one. If you put the disc in the laptop and boot it, it should ask you to boot from disc and then you can go from there. Obviously, the drawback is once you reformat you will lose all info that you had on there. But the way it sounds is that you may not be able to get back in there anyway as it isnt able to fix the issue.

It didnt effect my computer at all. But then again if it did contain malware my computer is protected against that. Never the less, i dont believe that Apa would purposely try to create problems for any one poster. Is it possible that site did effect your computer? Maybe. But im still willing to bet that you had some other issues along with it seeing how some of others havent had the same problem. But, moving on just let me know if i can help you try and solve the problem. Im more than willing to discuss this with you when you have questions.
