I tried to do this after the game, but my internet went down (still down) at the house...
Well, it was a horrible game for me. We basically suck... again... for another year...
I had such high hopes for the additions, but our defense is just horrible. Cutler had all day to throw the ball... I mean we had no pressure whatsoever!!! If we don't do something to correct this - it's going to be another LONG YEAR in Oakland!!
Well, your team looked good - but we looked horrible. I don't know if that is a good thing for your team. I suggest rating your team when you play someone "GOOD" instead of us.
Good Luck throughout your season - hopefully you'll make it injury free!!

I think you've got some nice pieces in place actually.

At least you didn't get shived at the game. Your team sucks and always will as long as Al Davis is the owner. Keep worshiping him, though. The fire Kiffin sign warmed my heart. Hopefully Davis agrees and gets rid of the best thing to happen to your franchise in these many years.

Exactly, cant wait for the game in Denver, maybe Javon will be there so we can harrass him.
I keep hearing about how bad the Raiders are but I think a lot of this is based on the impression of what happened at the end of the game, like around the time the score became 24-0. Before the unraveling, they didnt look as bad as everyone is claiming. And I think the point about Jay having all day to through is more a credit to the Broncos OLine. Jay wasnt sacked in the preseason either and thats even with playing against Williams and Ware. I think the unraveling is what leaves the negative impression but prior to that the Raiders didnt look so bad. Its just that this game was a steep hill for the Raiders to climb in terms of keeping pace with the amount of points a Cutler driven offense was putting up. Basically, the whole game came down to Cutler having all day to throw, which is going to be the case for a lot of our games, I think.

I have a real question for you. Do the Raiders have a QB coach? While Russell looks a little better when he has time to throw. To me he looks to lack some really basic skills.
He does not protect the ball. To me it seems to be an after thought for him. He does not seem to know how to step up in the pocket. When he does step up he gets himself off balance.
The guy appears to have a live arm, but seems to lack real basic skills.
What to raider fans think?

Lex I am with you 100%. I don't think the Raiders are as bad as they may have looked. They were successful in getting 150 yards rushing on us, when we've clearly tried to sew up our rush D. Once Russell started making more throws he didn't look that bad either. I think they're at least an 8-8 team this year.
Our O-line is just amazing! The Broncos were a good team that struggled with protecting the QB and getting players to the right spots last year. This year they apparently have that more under control. Our O will dominate most teams in the league, but our D needs to keep improving.
That being said, Faid fans are typically a sad bunch. Ususally they don't really understand much about their team or football as a whole, they shiv people, they punch cops after the game, they want good coaches fired and Al Davis to live forever. There loyalty to a disgraced organization is unbelievable, but its there. Its always a pleasuer when a Faid fan admits they were wrong in the sh*t talking they dolled out prior to a game that was a big unknown for both parties. I therefore give DBM respect and want to pass a long my feeling that the Faid will be better than Faid fans expect right now - as long as Kiffin isn't fired this week.

I think the Raiders have plenty to work with. But, it's going to take a year to iron it out. What they need to do is let Kiffin coach and stick with him through the difficult days ahead.
Look, the Raiders got zero pressure on Cutler. The Broncos went double tight and took away the outside rush and that was that. Also, their best pass rusher went out almost immediately (Burgess).
I think the Raiders secondary compares well to ours. Yeah, Hall got burnt, but could Bly have done better? Maybe. #21 is a stud though.
As far as their offense goes...Russell impressed me some. The kid is really in his first year and take a peak at his stats against us. Not shabby....then consider that #1...he has no receivers...and #2...the receivers he has didn't help him all that much. I mean...if they would have made those two catches for him...you could probably add 75 yds and a TD to his stats.
As long as they bring Russell around slowly and don't kill his growth...they'll be o.k. in the long run. The kid needs some real help though...and I certainly don't think Javon is the answer. Lelie might help some...but they need to get that kid a stud wide receiver.
I'm just happy as hell about where we're headed...but I try not to lose sight of other team's potential.
The Facts:
Russell went:
<TABLE class=tablehead cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=3><TBODY><TR class=oddrow align=right><TD>17/26</TD><TD>180</TD><TD>6.9</TD><TD>2</TD><TD>0</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Not too shabby! Add to those numbers...at least that one long drop...that could have been a TD and hmm! So, as a Raider fan...you should try to concentrate on the positives. Russell has plenty of potential, you have a very solid running game and McFadden is the real deal. You have one of the best cb's in the game and a hand full of other very solid players. It takes time...the biggest thing you have against you...is Al DAVIS and the lack of patience.

Props for showing back up so soon. Your team is junk, don't forget it :) I'll give you this: your offense is about 4 linemen and a receiver away from being noteworthy!
we agree , well almost , the Raiders are bad , but they are not that bad , After monday I pegged them as a 7 win team including wins over Buff and Chargers , were we disagree is the passing , the run game was there , but the passing game was also , we didnt need to pass to win , Shanahan wanted to pass to win
We needed to pass to win. That was the best way to get up on Oakland early. The more methodical we tried to be the more we risked keeping Oakland in the game. We're a better passing team now than we are a running team now. Currently we have an elite passing QB who if he has all day to throw is going to punish teams...even with minimal guys running routes in a lot of cases. Our running game is ok, not great...but it will now be helped by being an adept passing team.
I think the newfound offense will lead Shanahan to running a variety of passing plays to see what defenses will do and from there, an improvement in our running game will be spun off because Shanahan will start utilizing go to passing plays that will also optimally set up run plays. But its something that will be seen over the next several weeks.

How could of you had high hopes? Have you watched much football? Did you ever play football? do you read about football? If you said yes to any of those questions you should have known before the game even started Raiders stink.
The oline is full of scrubs Kwame Harris, Cornell Green, Jake Grove, Gallery? Cmon none of those players are starting caliber on a good team. That right there is enough to know they won't win much this yr.
Pull your head out of the sand and maybe you will get a clue.

I said Broncos would go 8-8. I bet I end up within 1-2 games on that.
Also I bet 8 games last week and was 5-3 and won around 600 bucks. How did you do?
The Broncos offense does look really good but if you watched that game and came away thinking defense is good then you also don't know crap about football.

6-10 through 10-6 is a pretty wide range. Way to go out on a limb with all that football knowledge.
I think the D has a chance to be middle of the pack. Lots of ups and downs. The D still has Marcus, Moss and Boss to contribute...so there are possibilities for them to get better as a unit this year.
Paired with a good to great O...and I still see the Broncos as a 11-5 team.
5-3 is good against the spread. Keep doing that and you won't have to rely on your musical ability.

FIRST - Spider the Pide Piper! Dog you knew I was coming back!! I always do... Argh!!! That was a tough one to swallow bro.... At least last year they were games!!! This year was horrible and I had a house FULL of nonRaider fans and boy did they LOVE the game - ate my food and rolled out laughing at me... HORRIBLE!!!
HOTROD - You have never been more right!!! They sucked more ass than any other offense on this planet!! Rob Ryan NEEDS TO GO!!! Not Kiffin - Rob does!!! He's horrible - didn't blitz and played PHUKKING ZONE DEFENSES ALL GAME!!! Horrible!!!
MECK & KAYLORE - You know you guys love me!!! :) Didn't I see you two chilling when I came to Denver and accidently stumbled onto Cheeseman Park? :)
Everyone Else - thanks for the kind words football fans from a different mother!! We all have passion for our two teams!! We love them and watching them win. Only one can win - and one will lose. We will win another day!! I just have to keep my head above water and wait... It's hard being at the bottom believe me - I pray none of you have to feel the burn every Sunday of another loss... It's hard - and you can imagine after so many years of coming to this site that it never gets easy!
Ever...
Good luck on Sunday!!

The faid will suck until the senile one kicks the bucket...simple as that.
http://bertc.com/three_crows.htm
Crow and Mushroom Stew
3 crows
1 Tbsp lard/shortening
1 pint stock or gravy
2 Tbsp cream
1/2 cup mushrooms
salt and pepper
cayenne pepper
Clean and cut crows into small portions and let them cook a short time in the lard/shortening in a saucepan, being careful not to brown them.
Next, add to the contents of the pan, the stock or gravy, and salt, pepper and cayenne to taste.
Simmer 1 hour, or until tender, add mushrooms, simmer 10 minutes more and then stir in cream.
Arrange the mushrooms around the crows on a hot platter.
Potted Crow:
6 crows
3 bacon slices
stuffing of your choice
1 diced carrot
1 diced onion
chopped parsley
hot water or stock
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup flour
buttered toast
Clean and dress crows; stuff and place them upright in stew-pan on the slices of bacon. Add the carrot, onion and a little parsley, and cover with boiling water or stock.
Cover the pot and let simmer for 2-3 hours, or until tender, adding boiling water or stock when necessary.
Make a sauce of the shortening and flour and 2 cups of the stock remaining in the pan.
Serve each crow on a thin slice of moistened toast, and pour gravy over all.
Crow Pie:
1 crow
stuffing of your choice
salt and pepper
shortening
flour
2 Pie crust mixes
2-3 hard-boiled eggs
Stuff the crow. Loosen joints with a knife but do not cut through.
Simmer the crow in a stew-pan, with enough water to cover, until nearly tender, then season with salt and pepper. Remove meat from bones and set aside.
Prepare pie crusts as directed. (Do not bake)
Make a medium thick gravy with flour, shortening, and juices in which the crow has cooked and let cool.
Line a pie plate with pie crust and line with slices of hard-boiled egg. Place crow meat on top. Layer gravy over the crow. Place second pie dough crust over top.
Bake at 450 degrees for 1/2 hour.

LOL. Calm down.
I absolutely guarantee you are a better musician than me. No competition there at all. I actually commend you for using your talent.
5-3 IS good betting the spread. You can do that consistently you CAN quit your day job....music or otherwise.
The main point was....calling people out for their supposedly 'lack of football knowledge' is hilarious given some of your takes on here. You have an over exagerated view of your own football self importance. Get over yourself.
Would be happy to bet the spread with you for $500. Not sure what it would prove....but it WOULD be fun. Let me know how you want to work it...money before, money after...escrow or not...I would be open for anything.

Yes and no. Jay made a lot of clutch throws just before getting creamed. In fact, look at the highlight reel of Eddie Royal someone posted on Youtube. (If you can stand it.) Jay get smacked a couple of times right as he releases.
Your defense sucks, no question... but Jay has a rocket arm and we're getting the ball out of his hands quickly. Teams have been doing that to our defense for years and we're finally turning the tables.
In any case, good job coming back and taking your medicine. You're an exception as rai_er fans go.

I thought Russell played pretty good actually. He made a few mistakes, but nothing disastorus. Hell, he looked above average in the 4th qtr, yeah the game was in hand, but he still made the throws and that will build him some confidence.
Two problems for the raiders as I see it. The defense needs to be carrying this team with a first year starter at QB and the defense just got punked at arguably their strongest point, their secondary.
The other problem is obviously Al Davis and the draft. You don't take glamour picks like McFadden when you have dire needs elsewhere. You don't take Micheal Huff when a guy like Cutler is on the board and you have Andrew Walters at QB. This will make the raiders uncompetitive and viaing for the worst team in the leauge status as long as Davis continues to run the show.

you are talking to different things here Scoring quick and ball control , they go hand in hand , but after the score was 24-0 we had room . we was averaging 5.7 yards per carry

Jay had 200 yards passing in the first half. He had an incredible average per completion and average per attempt. Our running game benefited from our passing game. And actually, I wasnt really talking about ball control. In this game in particular, the sooner we went up on Oakland, the better off we were going to be due to their passing game having some rough edges.

thats all nice , it will give me a nice warm feeling in the shower , but it still doesnt prove we needed the passing game to win

So?
Does it matter that the run game benefits from the pass game or the pass game benefits for the run game?
Both are equally effective strategies that have worked for various teams throughout the years.
Indy has always passed to set up the run. NE never has a great run game and yet they won 3 superbowls in 4 years.
You act like we have to run first to set up the pass. That's one way but not the ONLY way to play a football game.

Whats your point? You have no proof to the contrary either.

No, knucklehead. Im not acting like that. Moreover, Im acknowledging that we are more adept at passing than we are at running.

5.7 yards per Carry 3 rushing TDs .........
Yeah, that 5.7 may keep you warm in the shower but we're a better passing team than we are a running team. Cutler easily had the highest yards per pass and per attempt. The running game spun off of that.

Even the Colts use a version of the K gun except they run a 2 T.E. formation of it ........there are times you throw , times you run .But to say we had to throw to beat the raiders is false

At least you didn't get shived at the game. Your team sucks and always will as long as Al Davis is the owner. Keep worshiping him, though. The fire Kiffin sign warmed my heart. Hopefully Davis agrees and gets rid of the best thing to happen to your franchise in these many years.
then Denver can sign him and groom him like Dallas is doing with Jason Garrett. And in 10 or so years after a few more super bowl wins when Shanny is ready to retire we slide in Kiffin.

I believe both of them are currently banned from this site...
No I haven't been banned. I left some time ago because of the pussification of OM. The days of having real football conversation and good hearted fun mixed with some smack are long gone. The infestation of new idiots coupled with the defections of good donk fan posters has lead to the bronco-maniaization of OM. The era of posters with John Madden and fantasy football mentality is the norm. That's right this place has turned into one giant cluster **** devoid of serious football takes... its a ****ing shame!
If your name is on this list... You know the deal... if I missed anyone you know where to find me...

Raiders week has gotten a bit...well...weak the last few seasons. Even when we got creamed last year it didn't have the spark. As much as I enjoyed the Raider Smackdown (and I reeeeally enjoyed it), a small part of me misses the energy that comes with both teams being at least solid.

I miss it too!! but max slides in here and makes ****ing excuses why he doesn't post and on top of that shows a ghey list like it's suppose to mean something or make some kinda point, i guess the raider faithful are just giving up. And just so ya know max people move on they just simply move on and do other things so quit blaming the board for posters leaving because you have no idea why they left.

SD fans know their team and coaches suck. KFC and Butt-pirate fans think they can win.
I hope we put at least 34 on Butt-pirates and beat the living crap out of KFC at home.

We are living in the Golden Age of the AFCW. Davis is a senile old fart more interested in living in the past, than actually making the team better. KC is run by KC who is now under the command of a "let Carl handle it" owner. Sandy Eggo is rapidly slipping back into the abyss. Heads are gonna roll at the end of this season for the chuggers, and who knows how long they will take to recover, could be years.
On the flip side, the Broncos are young and improving. They have the best young QB in the NFL, a fantastic oline, great WRs and a running game that will improve. The defense is young but talented, and is showing progress as the season rolls on. Plus, the Broncos still have draft picks to come, and the stability of a potential HOF coach.

Honestly, unless someone is a complete narcissist I can't see them subjecting themselves to that.
I can actually respect some real fans burying their head in the sand for a little while if they need to.
The SD fans will get apathetic again, but KC/Faider fans will need to focus on something else. The Raiders will always have that fanbase too stupid to notice what's going on, but such is life.
