I read that, and chuckled. Chargers only move down 1 spot? Eagles skyrocketing up after beating a horrible Rams team?
Yet the Broncos only move up 3 spots by playing very well.

Broncos move up to 19:
Yeah... they move up 3 spots from #22 .. What is this based on..? who you play? or how many points you score ?

It's based on the opinions of the ESPN staff.
Here are some teams they list as better than the Broncos:
Thankfully, we're slightly ahead of the cardinals.

It looks like Denver has to whoop ESPNs #3 ranked team this weekend to expose the ESPN experts. GO BRONCOS!

Seeing the saints at 4, and the Broncos at 19 makes me giggle for some reason.

The Saints are tough up front on defense.
We beat SD we move up just a little more.

I remember in '98, during the 13-0 run, broncos were #2 most of the year. I don't know what it would take for us to get that top spot.

This is good...I want the world to keep sleeping on the Broncos...the less hype we get the better.

denver could win the super bowl this season and ESPN would rank them as a middle of the pack team still.
who gives a rats ass what ESPN thinks?

#1: ESPN doesn't hate the Broncos.. EVERYONE is convinced that ESPN hates their team (just read any other board to prove my point).
#2: I think it's a pretty fair ranking. All of the question marks are still present.. Compared to Saturday I would think:
- The offensive line is a LOT better than we thought
- Eddie Royal is a real weapon.
- Defense still doesn't look very physical
- The linebackers are still very bad (except for DJ, who is finally playing in position).
- I have no idea about the safeties.
- The ends don't seem to generate a ton of pressure.
- Can you rely on the kicker/punter in tough spots?
So, ya.. I still move them up 3-5 spots and feel pretty good about it. This is a MUCH better team than last year, no question. But its not an elite one (yet). Beat the Chargers handily and THEN I'm willing to consider a top-10.
Just my $.02

I can't honestly say we should be higher than we are right now. But if we beat SD we should be top 12 IMO

Sportsline has it about right - #12, behind the Chargers at #11.
I have no idea what criteria ESPN uses. It's ridiculous.
