ALAMEDA, Calif. — Defensive end Jarvis Moss is one of eight Broncos inactive for Monday’s season opener at Oakland.

Moss was the Broncos’ No. 1 draft pick in 2007. He was on the second-team defense throughout the preseason, though he did play with the starters at times on passing downs.

The other inactive Broncos are: S Calvin Lowry, RB Ryan Torain, LB Louis Green, T Erik Pears, C Tom Nalen, G Dylan Gandy and DT Josh Shaw. Green did not practice this week after injurying his hamstring and finger in the preseason finale against Arizona.

he wasn't inactive as he was announced on the starting lineup and i saw him numerous time on the sideline, but did anyone see Boss Bailey play a single down?

Not that I've seen anything out of Moss that's positive, but I think a major reason he was inactive was because we knew their gameplan would be to run, run and run some more. Their running game is very solid, an OL designed to run block, 2 excellent RB's.....combined with a "rookie" QB without a clue means they were likely to throw less than 15 times if the game was close. And when they did throw, everything was going to be underneath.

With all that said, a one dimensional pass rush "specialist" wasn't necessary last night.

Mike Shanahan stated in his post gamer presser that Moss was inactive because he's a pass rush specialist and we were playing a great running team. That's why he was inactive.

So I guess that means he will be inactive this week as well? LT will run his a*s over.

I hope we tackle his turf toe all day.

Shanahhan also said that Ekuban was a better fit for the game plan.

I agree. It looked like EE got some good penetration and recovered a fumble. Good personnel management by Shanahan.

My question is, When will Moss see time? SD has a stud RB as does NO (two RBs actually). Then we face KC with Larry Johnson. If he plays against pass-first offenses, when will we see him dress for the first time?
