What one loss team deserves to play OU if they end the season with one loss.

hmm...looks like SoCal(or another Miami fan), Garcia and Waffle, along with me have all voted for this one.

2 VT
1 Miami
1 OSU

those are the votes currently, when most likely it should be USC.

Sorry we had to jump over you in the polls, but the bcs will be out in under an hour.

hmmm....how the hell is Miami ranked #4 in the BCS?

NCAA wants a Miami vs. Oklahoma match-up a lot more than I thought I guess.

Florida State, who lost to Miami, is ranked #3, Miami who lost to Virginia Tech is #4, the defending National Champs that only have one loss also are #5, and Virginia Tech, who beat #4 Miami, is at #6.

And people think that the BCS works still when there aren't 2 undefeated teams ::)

not only that. But its been projected that if a) Miami wins out and b) OSU, LSU and VT all lose one time, Miami will be in the championship game REGARDLESS of whether USC and FSU loses again. Also, it might be that if only two of those three teams mentioned loses, Miami might eke by USC, but if all three lose, they will easily outpace USC.
Miami is about 3 points behind USC right now, and will gain a full point in the human polls everytime either of those three loses. Combined with the fact that Miami's SOS is likely to be ahead of USC's at the end by about .15 to .20 points in ranking, it will be a fact.
Not that i want to play OU anyway, we'd get slaughtered, let someone else play them, just give me a regular bowl win and ill be happy. We dont deserve to be in the sugar anyway.

VaTech should be rank higher than Ohio State. Ohio State has barely beaten a "number of less than quality opponents" this season. Vatech has only played down to one opponent all season long and should be rank higher. USC is definitely the second best team in the country and will be my upset pick in the National Championship game if they happen to play Oklahoma. And Miami should be rank higher than Florida St., period.

I just want to win the big east. I just don't think we'll be in the championship game.

I agree, Garcia, but wouldn't it be nice to play "the Ohio State University" in a bowl game to settle all bragging rights? ;D

Michigan will win the Big 10 (11) anyways. ;)

to settle all bragging rights? OSU won the National Championship, what bragging rights could VT possibly friggin have over the Bucks?

Technically, the refs handed OSU the National Championship, but be that as it may. ;D

I don't see an asterik next to OSU's National Title.

WaffleHawk, I could care less what people say about OSU, cause while all your teams are losing and dropping in the ranks, OSU stays on top.

Especially Arkansas, what a joke of a team.

Beter hope Navarre learns how to throw an accurate pass before Nov. 22 or it's going to be a long day for your maize and blue.

Den Fan, I bet you haven't seen Arkansas play. How could we be a joke of a team? Every year we are either great or live up to the media's lowly expectations. The media will never be big on Arkansas. That's expected. If you haven't seen Ark play, then you are a joke of a fan blindly making ignorant statements. Texas's two losses are to Oklahoma and Arkansas. I have no doubt Arkansas could beat Ohio St. Not everytime, but you would be surprised at how good we are.
Arkansas was supposed to finish last in the SEC west last year. We won it. This year we're supposed to finish 4th. That's our current position despite being robbed two games. The refs really did rob us twice. The robberies were as bad as the Dante Hall debacle, one was even worse.
I'm sure it's a given in your mind that LSU will beat Arkansas without even having to show up. It was the same thing last year, but somehow, we ended up with the Golden Boot!
Let's be realistic here.

Don't forget about Purdue.

Yeah he forgets that Navarre has been getting some heisman love (down the line a little). I'd have to say he is playing way better then Kreynzel. I am certain you are more nervous about that game then you are showing.

Navarre getting Heisman love? Maybe until he layed an egg against Oregon, or have you not realized that he could be the most criticized QB ever at Michigan?(and a guy named Griese was there a few years ago, so that's saying alot.) But hey, he's playing better than Krenzel! Michigan is automatically going to win now! It doesn't matter that the last two years Krenzel and Navarre were both starting QB's and OSU won both, Navarre is playing better than Krenzel!

Of course I'm nervous about playing Purdue and Michigan, we have a National title on the line(can't say the same for Michigan or Arkansas, even though they beat the great Texas Longhorns so I guess that makes them better than OSU), especially when it's at the Big House, but why shouldn't I be confident about my team, who is 24-1 the last 2 years, winning this game? Oh that's right, because Navarre is playing better than Krenzel.

As for Arkansas, They're a good team, but not great. They're QB is awesome, can't think of his name but he looks real good and is fast as hell. You beat Texas, congrats, but happened to lose 3 games this year, Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss if I'm not mistaken. So, if you lose to those teams, how can you figure that you would beat OSU? I am being realistic, and if you think all those teams you've mentioned could beat OSU, then apprently you haven't watched any OSU games.

Do you watch College game day? Apparently not because he is in some of the top five lists.

Fair enough. I watched OSU in the Fiesta Bowl, and I've seen them while flipping through the channels. They play many close games and always come out on top.

Matt Jones is the Arkansas QB. He had 73 yard TD run called back against Auburn. It was worse than a no-call. It was a phantom holding call, and it was on a guy about 20 yards behind the ball. I can live with the refs not seeing a penalty, but to just pull a penalty out of thin air, and hand the game to Auburn is ridiculous. It was a very frustrating experience to say the least. It was like the Dante Hall fiasco times 10.

FADERPROOF

And I do hope you guys beat LSU, and think you can. I havent watched them much this year, maybe a game or two, but I didn't see anything that special with them. I could underrate them, but to me it doesn't seem like they are up with with top 5 teams, or even some of the 2 loss teams.

Arkie
11-09-2003, 12:28 PM
LSU better watch out. They may overlook us. I'm thinking that Arkansas may be a "sandwich" game for LSU between Ole Miss and the SEC Championship game. Ole Miss is still undefeated in the SEC. LSU has a difficult road ahead. They still have to play at Alabama too. That could be an upset.

These next two games will be brutal for OSU, #10 Purdue comes to town this Saturday, then we go to the Bug House to play #5 Michigan.

If we win out, I'll be hoping that things are played out as to where OSU gets back to the National Championship, in hopes of not getting crushed too badly by Oklahoma. If we win out and the BCS isn't in our favor, then I'll take a Big 10 championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl.

I'm thinking USC will sneak in there now that I think about it. OSU and LSU will have a tough time winning out. Who has the best chances between USC and VT?

USC has a chump schedule the rest of the way: Arizona, UCLA, and Oregon State. If either LSU or OSU win out, they could leap over USC with their schedule strength, but USC is odds on favorites to be the team to lose to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.

VT is out of the equation after losing to Pitt, I can't see a 2 loss team going to the Sugar Bowl, unless all teams have 2 losses. Sadly, the 2 loss team with the best shot at the Sugar Bowl is Michigan, and if they can win out, which includes beating OSU, then they'll go probably if USC and LSU both lose also.
