View Full Version : Which jersey today?

Yes, this is the thread where grown men and women can talk about what team jersey they are wearing. On a day when the gov is taking over our mortgage backers... I can't think of anything more important!
I'm breaking a tradition this year. I always go Elway on opening day. But, I'm going with the Champ. I just have a feeling they might be calling his name tonight.
So, I wore #24 to work today. My kids will be going Champ/Cutler tonight.
Yes, it's risky to break tradition like this... but I'm thinking of it as sort of a rally-cap move.
Anyone else breaking tradition? Starting new ones?

Going with old #56 tonight, Al Wilson...always and forever a stud. In honor of him continually stuffing Justin "Huggy Bear" Fargas. That's right, Justin Fargas' father was one Antonio Fargas, better known as Huggy Bear on Starsky and Hutch. BAM! Up yours Huggy Bear.
All that aside, how f'ing awesome is to have another Broncos season opener just hours away? Hopes are high, nerves picking up and once that first chord of MNF is struck Katie bar the door, because the fat man will release the beast. Unfortunately I have to endure Minniecrapolis and the Slackers for three hours beforehand. A-holes.

What I don't understand about that jersey is...It has the 75th patch when that is not the jersey we wore in '94 for the 75th anniversary. Sweet jersey nonetheless, I have a Atwater and McCaffrey from '96 (nike jerseys are 10 times better than reebok)

Get one of the women in your life to sew you one, or make you one. Or, if you're crafty... do it yourself. They make iron-on letters that look almost better than the pasted on ones they ship with. Crafts stores have them, among other places.

I have a tradition, when one of the players jersey's I own retires from the team, I wear their jersey the entire next year then retire it.
If a player I have their jersey leaves the team before retirement I burn the jersey.
In all other years I randomly pick one of the non-retired jerseys. I will have to get me another jersey however to do that for next year as Cutler will be the only jersey I have that hasnt been retired. Thinkin about gettin me a B-Marsh jersey if they renew his contract next season. Champ is a good option since my wife and both daughters have their champ jerseys.

My oldest son , John (hey, there is an original name) is sporting his Plummer jersey home at school right now (4th day of Kindergarten) and lil one will be putting on his #26 Portis jersey but didnt want to wear his jersey to school and went with lit up fire truck shirt (hey, he is 4 and growing so Portis all that fits since McCaffrey is a 3T). It's all good. He had a good career here. IMHO, he left on okay terms. It was signing w/ the Pats for less $$ to play the same role as back-up that ticked me off. He basically left the Broncos for a "better" shot at the Super Bowl thinking that we weren't probably good enough to make it there ourselves Up until that, I can't think of one bad thing to say about him.
