We'll see. I like him as a player and a role model ETC. I think he'll be a solid player well worth the contract he signed, but we'll see if he can attain greatness. He has the capability, I think more than any other position outside QB LBers need good players around them so they can shine. If the DL or secondary sucks than they LBers will look awful. If Denver's DL improves this year I think all of their LBers are going to look very good.

DJ is a solid linebacker, but DB is a bigtime playmaker. DJ would probably be on DBs level if he played for Tampa.

This thread was so great, you felt the need to bump it yourself... huh?
DJ is good, getting better. Becoming a leader even.
He needs to get more TO's if he's to be a Derrick Brooks type of player. DB does not allow TO's to pass him by.

There's this thread on the front page about why a lot of posters are leaving the mane and i think the hitherto most agreed upon reason is that the newer posters are flooding the front page with worthless threads...

To be fair, the thread starter joined over 3 and a half years ago, just 4 months after you did.

I don't know if we'll see that from DJ. As well as he's played lately, he's never been a big turnover guy. His first interception of his life came as a Bronco - and this is after being a cane for so many years. I just don't see it, but I'm glad to have DJ on our team.

I said that the thread starter joined over 3 and a half years ago. He's hardly a newer poster as you were implying. But you're right in the sense that your join date compared to his really doesn't have any bearing on the situation. It's just that you don't have to act high-and-mighty about join dates when you both joined at relatively the same time. Nevermind that it wasn't you who started the thread, because my initial point stands true that this post was not created by a noobie, and there was no reason for you to label him as one.

DJ = Second Tier WLB.
Good enough though with a First Tier MLB and a decent D-line.
He's not a game changer though, and he never will be.

If you consider first tier WLB to be pro bowlers then I agree with you.
He's a good WLB though, I think above average but by no means outstanding. He is defintely good enough and by no means the problem wiht this team.

So rather than start good threads with all the greatness they've obtained from their tenure they leave? If the stupidity of this point is any representation of what the departing veterans would bring to the table then I say good riddance...

If you want to get technical, then logically - No it still is not relevant, because even if I do consider him new, for me to imply as such in my post does not require me to consider myself a veteran poster or anyone who has any form of seniority over him.
As long as I don't meet the conditions of both someone who has just posted a "worthless thread" and is a "newer poster", i can make such a critique without commiting hypocracy.

On the contrary, their threads are being buried by the plethora of comments and threads like yours. For the greater good - that is a effacement of this thread from the front page; this will be my last post here. And with that, I say good riddance.

The haters (Alec et al.) are just pissed that he's making them look bad this season. He's having a Pro Bowl year and hopefully he gets that recognition, but I doubt it because we're not a huge market team.
It's amusing to still see people ragging on him, though, despite how well he has played this year.

Its unfair to compare him to an all time great. He's playing pretty well right now. It's fun watching him make plays again.

HAHAHA I can give you a good physicians number cause your gonna need one to help pull that dilrod thats jammed up your ass. I bumbed this drunk late at night for the hell of it. Its a funny thread read some of the comments i know that may be hard to do when your in so much pain. Im sorry it stayed on the and front page it tried to stop it but after i bumped its like it had a life of its own.
This thread was started as a joke but since you want me to talk real football i will oblige.
Anyway you cannot really compare the two right now. D.J. Is a very athletic linebacker who is really developing into one of the best in the league while derrick brooks is a future hall of famer. Theres a huge difference between the number brooks put up in his career in 4 years and what D.J. has put up.
But arguing the other side D.J. did have a better rookie year than Brooks had playing at WLB. You could argue that if left at WLB D.J. has the potential to put up very comparable numbers. Although he still has a ways to go to average 120 somthing tackles per year. I believe he is around 90 a year right now. And i dont believe Brooks was ever subjected to 3 position changes.
SLB was a bad spot for D.J. and you saw him struggle and actually regressed instead of improving at that position. Playing the middle he showed alot of improvement throughout the year but he could never handle the blockers. If we had a defense like the bears putting d.j. in the middle could have had the urlacher affect (Putting a super athletic player in the middle spot who cant shed blocks)... well we don't so that experiment also didn't work. But d.j. showed improvement the whole year and now knows all three linebacker spots setting him up to be a pro-bowl caliber WLB with a very professional attitude and now a plethora of knowlege of the linebacker positions that will allow him to be a veteran leader on this team for years to come and also help develope any young linebacker we bring to this team.
As for the comparison to Brooks Its hard to compare a player with less than two full seasons at a position to a hall of famer. But as far as their "talk with their play" demeanor, being a leader and being able to help show young players how playing in the NFL is done and how to carry yourself. You can deffinatley see some simularities.(of course we just have to give d.j. a pass for the DWI.)
alright i made a decent post in the thread. You might want to make that call now.You don't want that stuck up there forever or perhaps you do... Whatever floats your boat, im not gonna judge.
P.S.- you cant say say dil-do on this board?Thats kinda weak. sorry i have an ongoing vendetta with censorship.

Ok people leaving has nothing to do with posts available beleive it or not people just get burned out and quit posting it happens all the time also said posters can use the ignore function on any poster they choose so they don't have to read the BS.
