Anyone heard any of it? I am freaking impressed. 100 times better than St. Anger. Smokes the load and reload albums.Almost seems like a combination of puppets, black, and ..and justice albums. Just not sure how they are going to be able to play some of these songs on the road. Thrashy!

It's in stores already? I was under the impression it doesn't come out until September 12th. I'll have to check it out...

ok so they played the whole albumon the radio here in cleveland yesterday........I am going to agree and disagree with you.....
Purely music wise it is slightly better than st anger......which is a horrible album btw.
Vocal wise this one is even worse. James needs to hang it up.
I never thought i would see the day when Megadeth is kicking metallica's ass.......seriously these guys are done.........last thing they did that was even respectable was the S+M thing.
Seriously though if an unknown band gave st anger, or this new one to a record label as a demo.........they would laugh their ass off..........and this is the garbage coming from one of the legendary metal bands? UGH!

Look - it's better than st. anger - but it still sucks IMO.

When I first listened to St. Anger, I thought it was crap. The studio sound made it seem like they were recording in a giant tin can. When I heard St. Anger and Frantic live in concert, it sounded so much better.
BTW, I went on YouTube to listen to Unforgiven III. I didn't like it at all. They aren't off to a good start...once again. :dunk:

Probably the weakest song on the album, Try "Broken, Beat & Scarred" or "All Nightmare Long".

This band no longer has the internal make up to do a 'classic' metallica album. ride the lightning, master, AJFA, etc, is no longer a possiblility from these guys, no matter how much they want to make things sound a lot like them. personally, they've permanently altered their sound for the worse and hetfield has actually started, gulp, singing. this is bad because, let's face it, he sucks as a singer.
the riffs are too telegraphic. what i mean is that they are trying to tell you 'hey, we are trying to get closer to our old catalogue' but it just doesn't sound natural anymore, it sounds forced and contrived.
i won't be buying this, nor will i be forking over the mini-safe filled with money to see them on tour.

listening right now after having bought it yesterday. They'll never be able to recapture what they were in the 80's... Nor come close to Black in 1991, but THIS album is the best they've released SINCE black. and frankly, the closest thing to metal any mainstream act produces anymore.
