he would been good ... I'd rather still have what we got for him ...
Rb's a dime a dozen , line makes the back , and life span of a HB is to short ...
Thanks Skins ... But Portis would have been great for a short amount of time ...
I don't think we would have won a title having him for 6 good years rookie to 6 in ...

Once again .. thanks Skins ...

The five-year, $35 million contract is worth $11 million in the first year.

"We always remained hopeful that it would get done before the season started," general manager Jerry Reese said. "It came down to the last few minutes and we're happy to get it done so we can move forward in our season. Plax is happy to get the contract done as well. It took a little longer than we expected it to take, but Plax was professional about it the whole time. We're excited and happy that it's over and we're ready to move forward into this new season."

Burress capped the Giants' improbable run to the NFL title by catching the winning 13-yard touchdown pass in the final minute to give New York a 17-14 victory over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Despite playing on a sprained ankle all season, Burress had a team-high 70 receptions for 1,025 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns. He added 18 catches for 221 yards in the postseason.

Burress had three years left on his previous contract that had paid him $3.25 million this season.

Burress had refused to practice during a minicamp in June because he was unhappy the team had not renegotiated a deal.

Drew Rosenhaus, Burress' agent, said the deal was not completed until 3:45 p.m., about 15 minutes before the team had to report any contract changes to the NFL.

"I am glad we were able to get it done and that Plaxico will be able to play this season without any distractions," Rosenhaus said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "It went right down to the wire. It was a roller-coaster ride."

His annual salary was well below the roughly $9 million that Terrell Owens of Dallas and Randy Moss of New England make.

It was a rollercoaster ride."

Burress caught 209 passes for 3,227 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first three seasons with the Giants, with all the touchdowns being thrown by Eli Manning.

"He is a big-play threat for us on the field," Reese said. "Plax opens things up for other people and he obviously can make big plays himself. Eli has all of his weapons intact and we expect them to pick up where they left off last season."

I wouldn't be so down on Campbell yet. It's his first game with the WCO. He's had a new OC how many years in a row now?

Dan Snyder is just an idiot. He's just ruining Jason Campbell. And Jim Zorn needs to look at the clock every once in a while. Three minutes left, you're down by two scores and you're still running the ball? WTF? If I were a Redskins fan, I'd be furious.

Both teams looked very rusty tonight IMO. I wasn't really impressed with either team. Eli still throws three passes a game that defenders mysteriously drop. New York's run defense looked pretty good though. They better hope Kiwanuka is going to be okay.

Too bad Shanny couldn't of pulled the Wilson for Tuck trade. Tuck and Dumerville as the starting DE's would be a pretty solid combo.

I have always thought that you could potentially make a killing from writing a book called "Clock Management 101" as some NFL coaches seem to have **** all clue about how to manage the clock in the last couple of minutes of a game.

JC Could be decent in the right system. West Coast will not be his bread and butter. Long wind up, slow release, pats the ball before every throw = Failure. He'll get better but he'll start dealing with QB controversy first thing tomorrow am.

Most of the 7 the Giants had must have personal fouls.

There was a throw Campbell made to the end zone in the 2nd quarter where Moss is 1 on 1, he gets 2 steps ahead of his man and then suddenly stops for now reason so the pass ends up being almost intercepted. That offense has some serious issues with communication, I am 100% if Marshall had been out there he would have kept going and then turned towards the pass and either made the catch or gotten the PI in the end zone.

YES! Message to Tom Coughlin: When Brandon Jacobs is averaging almost six yard a carry, you don't stop giving him the ball.

That game could have turned very ugly if a couple of those easy interceptions weren't dropped by the Redskins. Why coaches try to get too cute and go away from what's working, I'll never understand. (I'm looking at you Cam Cameron - 2006 SD-NE playoff game.)

BTW, Santana Moss got robbed of a touchdown on that juggling catch he made on the turf with his helmet ripped off. No defender touched him after he had control of the ball and by the time the refs blew the whistle there was no one between him and the end zone.

Had Moss been allowed to score that TD and the Redskin defender didn't drop that INT in the end zone which led to a FG, we would have been looking at a completely different game.

The Giants were fortunate that the Jim Zorn looks completely clueless as a head coach.

I was just thinking, Giants got lucky to walk away with a win, and Redskins were lucky to be in the game that long.

I chuckled seeing the Giants offense falter once they started to try passing the ball. 35 pass attempts, come on. They should've ran the ball 50 times with the success they were having.

And I do agree about the Moss reception, I thought that was lame for the Redskins because Moss didn't have control of the ball when he got hit. Man, if that counted as a TD, Redskins probably win the game, how crazy would've that been? Oh boy...

I only caught the last 1:30 of the game, but I agree with you on Zorn. He doesn't look like a HC. He looked very clueless and unsure of himself. That Skin offense looked very sluggish on the 2min drill as well. That team looks real sloppy. I know its the first game for them and all, but Denver's 2nd and 3rd stringers looked better than them against the Cards starters in that last preseason game. If that offense doesn't catch on to the new scheme by the second half of the season Zorn will be looking for a new gig.

My thoughts:

1. Agree with the "Zorn and Campbell look clueless" crowd.
2. The Washington DBs have the worst hands in the league.
3. I absolutely love the Giants running backs.
4. The Giants better hope Kiwanuka wasn't seriously hurt on the last play of the game.
5. The Skins will be on the horn with Paulesku's agent shortly. Rookie Durant Brooks had 7 or 8 punts and they all sucked (*cough* BroncoBuff *cough*). :)
6. Eli Manning is doing pretty well for himself off the field.
7. I'm really regretting passing on Plexiglass in my fantasy league. Had him last year and he stressed me out every week, never knowing when the ankle would finally give out on him.....but he was probably my MVP last year.
