there is a HUGE thread on this... it also includes a conditional pick that could be higher if he re-signs

hahaha so which is more likely:

1. Wolf actually has inside info and correctly called the locker room drama

2. The guys at rotoworld read Wolf's posts

Go to page 20 and work your way back. There is a good article by Broncos guru that justifies the trade.

It's not that complicated for him to have figured out (though I don't write option 1 off). It really is the only reason cutting ties with Fox makes sense.

Foxworth with character issues huh?

I dont know about that i just think he wants to start and he really believes hes a starter......

Well now he gets to be a starter.....

We got two picks.....Because he will resign with ATL i already know he is going to love being back closer to home.

On a team with alot of young talent also....I really like what ATL is doing down there.

Matt Ryan will be a stud for them.

Just give me the 7th n 6th pick so we can make moves and im good.

Like i said fans dont appreciate the extra picks untill u see how many we actually have ond draft day.

Gets me excited from the 1st-7th round...But thats just me.

Its a front. He is really Moriarty. Its no coincedence that problems with Lelie began after Foxy got here. Next he set his sites on messing up Plummers game, then Javon, Travis, ... ect ect. He has been working on Champ for a while, best he has managed so far is hamstring problems though.

Exactly. This is where thread-merging is a ****ing joke.

The last Foxworth thread has 19 pages of people talking about hookers, gardening and bigfoot sightings.... and somewhere deep in that mess, there's an update on the actual story.

Thanks to all those who post NEW threads for UPDATES to stories. They make life much easier for those of us who browse in and out looking for quick updates.

Don't forget trading Foxworth for Portis and Requiem rubbing one out for 40 days and 40 nights.

Well count me among the glad this thread wasnt merged. I wasnt going to open that other thread till someone pointed out here that more info was located in there. I got two clicks in and decided I didnt care that much, the headline of this thread told me enough.

Wierd that no one knew there were character issues (except apparently wolf who says so after the fact). Unless teh character issues are related to his NFLPA ties....which I might be able to understand.

Interesting Rotoworld updated the story at 12:09 and now it just says fell out of favor and eliminated the character issues comment.

i normally ignore threads longer than 5 pages because it turns into a circle-jerk of idiots who want to fire shanahan and dorks who use this site as their "musings on life"....go to an open mic for that ish

acutally just kidding, i think its kinda fun when the thread title reads "Broncos Defense an Analysis" and then the first post your read is about an amputee, transvestite swimmer....

You cant copy the shortcut if it has an ellipse in it, its intentionally shortened by the code. You have to right click the link, select copy link location (in firefox, or copy shortcut in IE) and then paste it.

You gave us a 404.

Guys around here act like Foxworth is a great player. He got abused in the 2005 AFC championship game and was never the same after. He is just an average CB and getting a 12 pack of Natty light would be a great deal for him and his mouth let alone a 7th round pick.

Right, and I have no problem with that. I just like when people use new threads to provide new news, which I assume most of us do.

No he just isn't that good.

REP....this is a very good day for Bronco Nation---Foxy was vastly overrated and couldn't man up. Playing 15 yards off just was too painful to watch.

The fact we got anything for the stiff is a great, great thing.

Foxworth to Falcons

The Broncos have traded cornerback Domonique Foxworth to the Atlanta Falcons for an undisclosed pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced.

Shanahan first mentioned the possibility of the trade after Monday’s practice, mentioning that there were several teams he had in mind.

Foxworth spent the first three years of his career with the Broncos after they selected him in the third round of the 2005 draft. Since then, he has started 20 games at various positions in the defensive backfield.

Maybe we'll get lucky and get a better pick than a 7th.

Looks like it's a 7th and then if he resigns with them, we get an additional 6th. I could be wrong though

Okay, so according to rotoworld, if Foxworth resigns with them the pick gets upgraded? I thought it was that we get another pick. Which is it?

That's exactly what I was saying. There are a 100 CBs that have been released this offseason with similar skills. He was nothing special and he hasn't improved. He is solid and has a little upside but he'll never be a #1 and he probably shouldn't be a #2 in the NFL...ever.

If some people want to feel better about this trade look at it like this. Denver traded Foxworth for a 7th and possibly a 6th. Plus with the open spot created by the trade Denver was able to resign Gandy. So in reality Denver got and experienced player at a position they were lacking in Gandy, and a 7th and possibly a 6th for Foxworth, who was going to be their 4th maybe 5th DB.

There, feel better??

Or maybe he'll file a labor grivance that he was released for his union activities.

That's the key right there. Foxworth peaked a year and a half ago.

I'll always remember Foxworth for the way he opened up a side of the field for BenBurger to sling the ball around at will during the AFC Championship game.

The dude nearly singlehandedly created a gigantic hole that any offense without John Elway would have found impossible to climb out of.
