Well folks, I'm taking a little trip to Afghanistan. My son is set to be born in November, and it looks like I'm going to miss it. Although there is a slight chance they'll zip me back over for it. Anyways, see ya'll in about 15 months!

Be careful and be safe! That's sad news you might not be home for the birth of your son.

yeah, it's kind of funny. I knew when I took this job that I would be doing stuff oversees, but they failed to mention that it would be starting immediately! It's cool though, hopefully I can catch a hop back for a few days. As an old CO of mine used to say, "You can be there for the conception, or the birth. Your choice." haha

If you run into Bin Laden and Zawahiri while you're over there, do me a favor and kill them. ;D

Keep your head down and be safe. Hopefully you get to come back for the birth. If not get with the USO and see if they can set up a video conference for you so you can at least watch it.

Get home safe, see you in 15 months.

Hey look at this, cons and libs coming together in support of one who serves. Nice to see we can all still support what is really important.

Stay safe. My prayers will include you now. This must be awfully hard on the mother of your son. I hope they allow you to come home for the birth. But then again, it's sometimes hard to pinpoint that day, unless it's a planned delivery date.

This time I'm going as a civilian, albeit in direct support of our military. There are plenty contractors who are not working for Blackwater and it's a shame most of us get a bad rap. Anyway I just got off the phone with the boss, and their definately going to shoot me home for the birth so I'm pretty jazzed. Thanks for the well wishes, got to head to BWI

Hey guys! Just a little heads up. I flew in this afternoon, and got to the base hospital at 1500, and my son was born at 1700 so I made it! Our son Ryan was 9lbs 8oz, mama and baby are doing fine. I get to stay stateside through the weekend so I'm thrilled. Then it's back to the grind for a few more months. Anyways, take care and go broncos.
