Today is the day that the fruits of your donations will be used to satisfy a subject on my "Bucket List", so to speak.

Several weeks ago Gunns took it upon herself to start a collection to help my wife and I realize a vacation that we have desperately needed. With the mounting doctor bills and my health it was fast becoming obvious to me that we would never see that vacation.

Today, with the help of the Orangemane and it's generous members, my wife and I are leaving for what we are considering our second honeymoon.

We will be leaving in a couple hours heading to Big Cedar Resort. It seems like a super place to get away to forget what ails us and remember just what we mean to each other.

http://www.bigcedar.com/

Denverbrit was kind enough to make the reservations for us, and many of the rest of you gave donations to help with the expenses.

I have sent all the donators thank you letters. So they know how I feel about them, and what this means to us. But I just wanted to remind the folks that make up orangemane how special many amongst you really are. Today is the day that it all comes together and as we prepare to leave we will take the good thoughts and well wishes of the 'Mane with us in the true sense it was offered.

Thanks a million.

Dan and Anna Edwards

I know this is off topic. I was hoping that we could take down the donation thread and put up a sticky on the main board so the most members possible get a chance to see this.

Have a great trip. I wish I could have donated but damn if diapers and formula and doctors appointments add up quick. Have fun and enjoy yourself.

Hopefully you don't have the same "disfunction" problem that marred the first honeymoon, CH. Bon voyage.

Much love to ya Crazy!!!! Your little note to me made a big impact on me and reminded me why love of family, love of country, will always be more important to me then love of money.

I hope you and your wife have a great time.

Oh and by the way I really love money!!!!!!

My only wish was that I could give more.

They way I look at it you gave what you could and the result is Crazy is off to have a good time. I know doing things like this is supposed to be for others but part of it is also to feel good about yourself.

You did good and the board is a better place because of it.

Got home yesterday about 2 o'clock or so. We had a great time. We went on a tram ride through Dogwood Canyon. Don't know if anyone here has ever been there. But if you have, then you know how beautiful it is.

We did some hot tubbin, swimmin' took in a show, and even had a massage while we were there. We also had some pictures taken by a professional photographer so we would never forget how much fun we had or how much this trip meant to us. When we get the pics from the photographer we will try to post soem of them.

Mostly we just spent time together. We had the time of our life. Here are a couple of pics. One of the landscaping and one of Anna and I. The landscaping at this place was amazing. Everywhere you looked it felt like you were in a flower garden. As beautiful as it was, it paled in comparison to my wife, as I am sure you will agree.

I did not know anything about this. I know Crasyhorse counted me as one of his friends here and I would like to donate something if it is still possible. How can I do that.

despite all the rhetoric and slamming that goes on here stuff like this still rises to the surface.

Life is all about generosity people. If every American would buy into thinking other first we would completely dominate!!!!!!

Go out and do something for your community and I bet you get addicted to it.

Sorry I missed the thread for the donations, I'm glad you had a great time. Keep that positive attitude (I know being a KC fan doesn't help, but what can you do), studies show that in many instances it does have a beneficial effect through illness.

I'm so happy you had a good time. Such a beautiful place!

For anyone who still wants to donate here's the link to the thread I started. Read through the thread as my first post neglected to give all the information on how to donate to Dan's paypal account. Didn't understand Paypal at the time. And please, if you can, don't stop now. Dan is trying to rebuild a car with his son and this could help to build some great memories for his son. Plus, who knows, maybe Dan and Anna can have some sweet dates in the future.
