View Full Version : IN-COM-PLETE!! Petition

Ok Broncos fans....

I've been to both preseason games and we need to get a message to the Denver Broncos and Mr. Alan Roach.

For those who don't know, Mr. Roach was on record in an interview after he was hired to be the new stadium announcer that he might not "honor" the IN-COM-PLETE chant after the opposing team throws an incompletion.

So far, it looks like he might be serious about getting rid of it. While he has led the stadium in the chant on occaision, he has either been forgetting to do it on every incomplete pass, or he's slowly working it out of the game.

This past week, he didn't do it for most of the game. I went and complained to my account rep about it and he suddenly started doing it, but I'm not satisfied with that.

The IN-COM-PLETE chant is a Broncos original and has become a tradition at home games. I'm asking the fans on these boards to make our voices known to the powers that be and let them know that it isn't Mr. Roach's decision to make.

WE WANT OUR IN-COM-PLETE!!

Go here to sign the petition....

Look, I don't want to be "that guy" who has to come into a thread and oppose it.

And truthfully, I don't oppose this per se. I love the IN-COM-PLETE chant. However, let's be honest here. Any of you season ticket holders, would you really give up your tickets because they dropped the chant? People who maybe go to a game or two a year, would you stop going?

Probably not. And thus, I find this to be an exercise in futility. If they want to get rid of it, they will.

BUT, with that said, I really hope they keep it. It's fun.

He is still doing it, but only on "big plays", which in my opinion is so much better than every single incompletion.

What I am pissed about that he has not done is announce Jay Cutler on the Offenses first series. I loved that when Cass would do that with whomever was the starting QB.

Internet petitions are very worthwhile. Almost as worthwhile as giving Jambo in Nigeria your back account number so he can stash his recent windfall in your account for a handsome reward.

A new man always wants to make his mark. Nothing wrong with something new proposed. If the new guy can come up with something clever Im all for it. To be honest it wouldnt hurt to find a new stadium chant that focuses on the offense. The "incomplete" came to be when defense was the trademark of denver broncos football. I could be wrong but thats my thinking. Now we are entering a time when the focus tends to be more on offense with a hope for above average defense. Why not come up with something else that centers around Cutlers ability to move the ball and get that offense motivated. We struggle in the redzone always. Why not find a chant or cheer that gives that offense a bit more energy or motivation inside the 20. Yes the "incomplete" is great but theres always room for change.

I've been to many a Bronco Game in Denver and I found for the most part only the PA blares out In-comp-lete, for the most part people in the stands don't say anything and find it irratating. Especailly when the opposing team is moving the ball on the Broncos and have one pass dropped after a series of completions.

I say retire it for awhile and come up with something new.

Keep the IN-COM-PLETE but also add in on offense when we get a first down...FIRRRST DOWN!!

...Brandon Marshall for a 35 yard gain and a Denver (from everyone) FIRRRST DOWN.

Why just mess with opposing O's they have a D that needs to get messed with.

Just randomly throwing it out there but:

"MOVE-THE-CHAINS" or "FIRRRST AND TEN" or He says "THE DRIVE" and the fans say "CONTINNNUES" (History Throwback, so I am vary partial).

Firstly, the Texans have a First Down chant. And frankly, I don't like a chant where its guaranteed to happen like 15-20 times a game.
Offensively, I don't see any use for a chant. Keep things quiet for them.

Unfortunately, and I don’t know why, but the Detroit Lions have been trying to implement this at Ford Field…When I first heard it in a 06 preseason game, I almost crapped my pants and told my wife, hey that’s a Bronco thing and they are stealing it from them…What’s worse is that they also try the “Kitna to Williams for 15 yards, that play results in another Lions”…(insert crowd here)

I'm signed on. It is the one thing that unites the crowd. Us shut-ins get a real kick out of being able to "join" the crowd with that chant.

Plus, it has been reported that the chant does affect the other teams' QB - breaks his concentration somewhat - just like the Salute is often taunted by other teams when they score in Denver. If players can taunt the crowd, then the crowd can taunt the players.

I say stay with it.

I seem to recall in highschool during basketball games we would say "(name of school) has fat chicks" Because we were smart.

I personally could really care less about the IN-COM-PLETE thing I never do it when I'm at games I'm to busy cursing at who dropped it or threw it poorly that they suck. If we could get the score board to read "Croyle should have been AB-OR-TED" I would probably do that one. However the fans seem to like it, and it might screw with a QB hearing some 70,000 people remind you you threw an incomplete pass while you are trying to hear the next play over the radio work out with the receiver what happened and try to breath in the stratosphere we call a town. And can the NFL just give the fans something we enjoy for once. Just one time.

If they put a coin acceptor in the seats and 60% of the seats put in their quarter for that play then they will do the chant. I see that as the most likely scenario. But most likely with a $5 bill.

No, the dumbest chant in the NFL is the one Duh Bears announcer does with the fans...for all things, when there is a timeout.

Duh Bears announcer: "There's a Timeout"

Duh Bear fans: "WHERE!"

Duh Bears announcer: "On the field"

That is the lamest thing since I heard the Colts announcer say "Lets Crunk it up" to start a football game. I didn't know what Crunk until 2 years later.

Lump Daaaa, da dump ta da dump ta da daaaaa.

That is what I would like to hear when I am in the stands.

One step further:
Start the game with "Ride of the Walkurie" From Die Walkurie then finish the game with "Hi Ho, Hi Ho" that Hagen sings from Gottendamerung.

I just posted this on BroncosForums. Some of you don't know me as well, so the assurance I mentioned might not mean as much, but I donate a LOT of time and money to BF, because I love the Broncos. My motivation for joining Mtn in this cause is also due to my love of the Broncos.

=============

Ok, Mtn and I talked last night and we decided to take this a step further.

I have created a website, www.saveincomplete.com, for people to visit and sign a petition which I will send a hard copy of to the Broncos headquarters.

Each week or so, as the petition grows, I will send another letter and list of the names on it to the Broncos headquarters.

Take a minute or two to go and sign it. 'Maybe' signing an online petition, which is delivered in hard copy to the Broncos, will do nothing, but 'maybe' it will make an impression on Bowlen or someone else in the Broncos management. There is little downside to signing the petition, but a few minutes of your time.

By now, you guys know that I am not in this to collect email addresses to spam away, so I can ASSURE you that your names and emails (email optional, but could help convince the Broncos of the validity of each name) will ONLY be used for the stated purpose, which is to send a message to the stadium announcer and the Broncos owner/management to keep IN-COM-PLETE alive.

Please visit the site, but more importantly, tell your friends, co-workers and fellow Broncos fans to spend a couple minutes and visit www.saveincomplete.com, but again MORE importantly, tell them to tell their friends, email their parents, children, friends in the media, etc..

Let's get the word out and start a movement.

Great Idea. I might break the site for a moment while doing it, but I think that makes sense. I live in Ark, but I'm on the waiting list and will buy tickets when my name comes up.

The incomplete chant is comparable to the Steelers "Here we go Steelers!" chant and other NFL traditions. You expect to go to mile high and hear the crowd chant incomplete to get the D amped and make some noise when the opponents are on the field.

It just carries more wait that those of us from out of town took the time to get on the list and shows we are comitted to the Broncos and not just filling out an internet form.

Good stuff though!

You know someone should just ask Roach if he's going to do it or not before we blow this out of proportion. He's a very down to earth dude and very approachable.

Signed the petition. I love the chant, it's like soccer chants here, only classier.
I sure as hell want to shout IN-COM-PLETE when I finally make it to Mile High!

You are probably much more well known around the stadium than most of us. Could you contact him?

In a DP article, he said he thouht it was more of an Alan Cass tradition than a Broncos' tradition, so therefore he was considering minimizing or eliminating it.

Maybe it is just a coincidence and him getting used to the new gig, but this is what Mtn posted to start this thread:

This past week, he didn't do it for most of the game. I went and complained to my account rep about it and he suddenly started doing it, but I'm not satisfied with that.

Maybe Roach wanted to see the reaction of the fans if he stopped leading the chant?

I was going to send him an email Tned but couldn't find it online. I don't know him real well but he did kick in on the bus and had beers with us back in KC years ago. He and Scott Hastings told us some great stories. During the SB runs Hastings and Logan had their own little tradition. They use to take their shirts off and hang out of their press box during games....lol They got pretty superstitious about it.

If someone can track down Roach's email I'll send him a note. I looked for it but had to register to some site to get it so I didn't sign up.

He has stopped doing it on every play, as has been the case for the last decade or so.

he missed a couple in the 2nd quarter after Rodgers hit, I think, 13 in a row.

It would be nice also if the crowd could get into the kickoff song, "We Ready" by Archie Eversole(assuming it is stilling being played).
Whole stadium chanting "We readddddddy" would be cool

I hate that song. It's awkward to sing along to. I think there are better kick off songs we could use.

I guess since he has gone on record about possibly not continuing the tradition, some are putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 4, rather than giving him the benefit of the doubt that he 'missed' a couple.

Asked if he will continue the "IN-COM-PLETE" chants, Roach said: "I don't know the answer to that. Whether it goes out as an Alan Cass tradition or remains a Broncos tradition, I guess we'll see."

I guess we'll see.

Start singing that and then poll people around you asking how stupid you sound on a scale of one to ten. I promise the median will be at 8.7.

A lot of people look stupid/say stupid things at games. Although, I do remember the Pats-Broncos playoff game, I had to take a leak at halftime, and just barely made it back before opening kickoff. As I'm running up the stairs to my seat, the song starts going off and I'm yelling "WE READY!" and everyone is just looking at me like "WTF?" and then, a guy next to me at my seat asked me what are they saying in the song. I told him We Ready, and it was like a light bulb clicked and he said "AH, okay, thats cool"

So maybe if we got people to actually know what they are singing, it might be better, because I think at least half of the stadium has no clue what they are saying.

I was pretty annoyed they did away with Rock and Roll Part 2 (the "hey" song) last season. I know WHY they did it, but it really left a large hole after we would score.

Did I hear it being played during preseason games again though?

I think IF Roach doesn't keep in-com-plete going, the fans ourselves must try to do it.

With his world-record speed, 6-foot-5 frame, and egocentric showmanship, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has what it takes to become a star NFL receiver.

Ummm...What about all that other stuff needed to be a star NFL Receiver? Like, knowing how the game is played, or BEING ABLE TO CATCH A PASS?
