Cutler as the holder? O'Brien is pretty big on having his punters hold. Why would Cutler need to hold?

I know, but word around the campfire is Cutler may have to hold. Don't kill the messenger.....

Because we don't know who our Punter is and a consistent holder for Prater would be nice.
He's held in practice before, I know.

According to the DP, there have been some issues with the holds. Cutler was the holder at Vanderbilt, so he has experience. I also remember he practiced with Elam as a rookie, but Elam wanted to stick with Plummer.

What was the freakin "Rainbow Right" play that Plummer and Elam ran? Elam got jacked up?...?
Can Prater catch a pass?

Cutler has to hold because if he didn't the ball would fall over and be very tough to kick.

And Shanahan has claimed Jay is a "natural" at the holder position
Key words here are "Shanahan" and "Claimed"
Not to say its not true just a red flag of sorts.

I never understood why they didn't call a fake FG pass with plummer as the holder, at least a couple of times. Or even a pick it up and scramble, guy could run

Ok, anyone of you who actually read that little snippet and assumed that it means there are "problems" at holder and also believed that Cutler is indeed supposed to be holding for kicks now needs to calm down. That story has literally nothing to it. I was at camp that day and they had Cutler practice holding after practice like they do every year. Last year they had Matt Lepsis practice long snapping. It doesn't mean anything. I promise you that you will never see Cutler holding this year.

And all I said was it was something to watch for...Not written in stone, and that snippet wasn't the only place I have heard it. Again, I never said he should be or is supposed to be, just to watch for it.
