Would anyone else be in favor of picking him up and putting him on our practice squad? I am even willing to take some assumed risk with the season by cutting Ramsey (his velocity and timing have been very subpar this preseason) and going with Hackney as our #2. I liked Bartel's game--somewhat mobile with a decent arm--I will keep an eye on him the rest of the preseason

You could replace ramsey with a furby with no batteries and it would be an improvement.

Bartel got cut--he is mobile--has good arm strength and relatively TALL! I'd love the Broncos to make a run at him......

I'd definitely be willing to sign him to the practice squad and say goodbye to Hackney...hopefully forever! Bartell has talent, but it would take him quite a while to learn our offense. So, the best bet would be to have him learn our offense on the practice squad this year and then compete with Ramsay next year.

That being said, the Cowboys were stupid to let him go. Johnson is 102 yrs old and might not even play next year...in which case they'd have a nice talented youngster backing up Romo.

why is everybody so concerned about the backup QB

no team in this league would perform as well without there starter period. you think the colts and pats fans would be happy if manning or brady went down

ramsey may not be a very good player but from everything ive heard about him is he is smart knows the sideline stuff and really helps jay learn what he needs to do to get better.

now id rather have that than a guy who might be able to win a game or two more than ramsey, i dont know about you guys. its not like wed be winning the SB with either of them so i dont think its a matter of importance at all

I will throw in Morielli(sp?) for my vote of qb's we should take into the practice squad. He looked good except for that int to Jack Williams in Azi.

That's the only reason he will stay on this team shanny is not actually banking on cutler getting injured or i should say hoping.

That guy was an asshole in the Replacements.

I sent Adam Schefter a mailbag email asking him if denver could/would pickup Tony Romo from the Dallas PS. I think it was the last year Shefter was at the DP and he was too busy reviewing Taco Bell or chipolte or some cheap quick mexican food chain for his MB.

That is not true at all, the 49ers, Chiefs, Raiders, Vikings, Bears would all be a lot better if the starters go down, or at least they wouldn't be significantly worse.

I'm surprised he threw 41 passes in their final preseason game then got cut.
