OK, I haven't watched the game yet.

I was at a stupid party last night and managed to turn on the TV in the kitchen for a few minutes to check the score. So it's in the second half and I watched a punt - I didn't see which punter it was, but I thought it was Kern.

I had a few drinks last night, but I could swear he was standing right about our 10 yard line. He freakin' nailed the punt all the way back near the Cowboy's 15 yard line. I may have had a few drinks, so that looks like the ball went about 75 yards in the air.

So, I look today and see the longest punt listed is 63 yards by Kern. My goofy question is this (which seems to have answered itself now that I am more sober). Kicking stats are all taken from the LOS - correct? That means a 63 yard punt stat doesn't take into account the 12 yards deep that the punter receives the ball?

Just checking.

That's a pretty incredible punt, then.

Both punters impressed me. Not just the kicks, but Palescu is the one who tackled Pacman on his long return (good stick too, he didn't dive at the legs and trip him) and Kern made a great play after the blocked kick to convert for a first down. Both showed talent and awareness, I am shocked to say I am actually very intrigued by a punting battle. I think Kern has the stronger leg, Palescu is more polished and consistent. We'll see how it goes

Okay...I'll play (and I've had a few drinks too, but that's never stopped me from stupid)....

On another play, Dallas picks up first down but a cowpoke o-lineman nails a Denver backer late...15 yard penalty after the first down. Why is the call first and 25 instead it's first and 10?

It happened after the play. It affects field position but not down-and-distance
