I didn't see the game, but the NFL.com box score shows zero tackles for our first round raft choice from last year. Could that be correct? (And if so, yikes.)

He was getting good pressure.

I find it hard to pay attention to individual guys on the lines in preseason since I'm never sure who's in. I did see him have a great 3rd down rush where he split a double team as the end on a 3 man line. His rush caused an errant throw.

Dallas has a damn good line...only NY was able to crush them..hell, NY crushed NE too.

Very much a hot and cold kind of guy. He got some pressure on a few plays, but there was much more cold than hot.

This sucks... For the record I did'nt like the pick when it went down. I sure hope he can get better.

So far from what im hearing he isnt really making the kind of impact that we desperately need. Dumervil still seems to be a more viable weapon, at least on 3rd downs.

I saw him touch the QB once after the ball was released, he might have pulled on his legs or something... but other than that, the invisible man.

I still think he is coming along nicely. I expect 6-8 sacks this season, but showing more consistancy as the year goes on.

He isn't even getting close to the QB.
Were you even watching the game? He had good pressure 3 or 4 times.
If anything Dumervil still is invisible, yes, he got a sack, but it was completely a coverage sack. I like Dumervil, but so far no one on our line has really stood out, except perhaps Thomas.

3 or 4 times sorta close don't cut it, he is paid to get to the QB.

So is Ware, how many sacks did he have?

Exactly. Oh and yes, close does cut it, close is what causes bad throws which leads to turnovers. Dumervils sack didn't stop their drive, in fact they scored a touchdown on it. Pressure however did cause a pick, which almost was a pick 6. So shut up and get over your Moss-hate.

No Moss hate just not blind.
He isn't strong enough to be a dominate pass rusher.

He got good pressure sometimes, manhandled others. I hope he gets more consistent, because he really explodes off the line when he times it right.

Moss needs more time he hasn't played that much yet. Give him this season and next to see if we got anything or not. Not all players make instant impacts even if we wish they would,

He got some pressure vs 3rd stringers. I am still hopeful since he is coming back from injury, but he needs to do a lot better then he has.

Who cares about Ware, we are talking about Moss.
Ware is a pro-bowl pass rush demon, and was shut down by a rookie Tackle. Moss got equal to better pressure in this game and was up against one of the best onlines in the league. You seem to be claiming that Moss sucks because he only got pressures and no sacks, so l am using that same logic with Ware.

I'd agree that he did play against 3rd stringers, but he also was on a D-line full of 3rd stringers. It does help to play with Thomas, Robertson & Doom over Carrington, Clemons & McKinley.
I'm not saying he shouldn't/couldn't do better. But give him more than 2 preseason games in which he played each under 1/2 the game. So 1 full game of time and apparently he's a bust. Bah, dont know why I even bother posting on here, some fans are just way too critical of a game we've never played, coached or fully understand.

Its a pre season game, Ware doesn't have to prove anything.
And where did I say Moss sucked?

To add some perspective, even the best pass rushers in the league usually average less than 1 sack per game over the course of the season, and that's playing most of the defenseive snaps. I'm not sure what everyones looking for, Moss is playing 10-15 snaps a game right now, with half of those being running plays. Getting pressure 3-4 times in a game like this is pretty damn good.

well it's not really something that's worth fighting about. I'm just really trying to keep people more patient. It would be nice to have all the new investments in the dline pay off right away, but it's just not realistic. It was a major setback when Moss broke his leg.
It's too bad the Front office waited so long to address the Dline, because instead of having a mix of vets and new blood, we are waiting for a pile of greenhorns to finally settle in. Maybe these guys don't pan out, but I'm not about to predict anyone as a bust until they are well into their second season.

a pressure is just as important as a sack of course a sack is what is desired but if you can make the QB uncomfortable. make him scramble and hurry his throw it is effective.

To put things in perspective a bit, this is really Moss' first year (injury free). Rarely, if ever, do dlineman make a visible impact in their first year. I agree with the guy that said give him until next season to start judging him.

Moss doesn't stand out to me in any way so far. He isn't quick, he isn't strong, he doesn't work hard.
Id like to see him do more but in his final year at UF, he was still probably a year away from having the staph infection behind him (the weight issue), so last year he comes in with the weight thing but with some upside and breaks his leg. Mario Williams wasnt a force his first year and he didnt break a leg either, nor was there a weight issue with him. Moss has some upside but the staph infection is also why he was available where he was. My hope for Moss is that he starts to turn the corner this season, not that he dominates in preseason games. I think Jarvis becomes more important if we expect to make a run in the playoffs. But dont forget, to hedge our bets, we also drafted Crowder. Id like to see one or both of them emerge at some point this year.

who should we have drafted in round 1 instead of Moss? Reggie Nelson? The LB for Carolina?

I think most people are more uncomfortable with moving up to get Moss when someone like Anthony Spencer was on the board. I wanted Nelson though.

We should have packaged some picks and moved up to take P. Willis. We only ended up with 4 players in that draft anyway.
Well, he'll have the next 2 years to do something since he has a decent contract. He's essentially a red-shirt freshman in a four year program. I'm not expecting anything major from him until his junior or senior year. If it doesn't happen then...

Moss was the second most pure pass rusher coming out that year. His physical skills are there, but the learning curve is steep because his technique and mental acuity are not on par with his physical skills just yet. Dumervil was a major example of a player that had to be mentally prepared and had unbelieveable technique coming out of Louisville. He was way more NFL ready coming out of College than Moss was.
I still believe in Moss, but I also want to see the DL step towards the LOS quicker and then read the play instead of the way they are not playing aggressively right now.

I dont get why Moss doesnt play more during the preseason
Does anyone know what specifically Moss is doing wrong?
Is his technique bad, or is he hesitating too much off the line?
Or is he just slow and weak?

2 ways of looking at this , pressure and tying up blockers , was moss double teamed most of the game ? Did Moss's play keep the backers out of the wash ?
was a Cat Blitz successful from Moss's side ?

I think Moss has struggled. I understand he has some great ability but I'll always wonder if he's not more suited to play 3-4 OLB. I'll gladly give him time to develope, but when you have guys like Elvis Dumervil producing as 4th round picks, why not expect more from your first round guy? Med normally talks me off of the cliff on this one, but I still think we would have been much better off with Reggie Nelson or Griffin or even Weddle. Oh well, Moss is a Bronco and that's who I'll support!
