We're an offensive team now, folks. Who knows if we'll be able to stop anyone, but teams are going to have to put up big points to beat us.
I honestly think we'll be putting up scores in the 30s on a regular basis.
Who knows if we'll win, but it'll at least be exciting.
Those are all Cutler highlights but I just can't take my eyes off the blocking. Man, the OLINE is looking GOOD!
I'm so happy that Ryan Harris is proving me wrong right now. Clady had a heck of a game against Ware.
I think starting the season against Ware and Williams is going to be a very good thing for Clady.

And as crazy as it sounds, I hope we follow Indy's lead and keep building around the face of the franchise. Adding another talented WR next year to Cutler's arsenal should be top priority along with making sure that Nalen's torch is passed to the right guy.
We'll have to keep drafting defenders as well but building around Cutler is the first priority we should have going into the offseason.

Cutler looks better than I thought he would so far this season.
But he looks to be in good shape and is making quick, smart decisions.
And the ball is like a laser coming out his hand.
Keep it up kid.

It seems we have transitioned to primary passing team in the last 3 years. I remember the 05 season the offensive line did not look too comfortable pass blocking in the obvious situations. Now we routinely line in the shotgun telling the whole stadium we are airing it out.
Clady is getting a diverse exposure this preseason going against Ware and Moss. Hopefully he's learning something new from each experience and incorporating it into his game.

The best play is when he stands and makes that throw to Marshall even when he knows Ware is coming. His stepping up into and trusting the pocket is much better this year. Then again, this year he's hardly been even hit, let alone sacked, so that helps build confidence to stay in there. Anyway, Cutler looks like he's ready to play now.:yayaya:

I think I seen Clady stonewall Ware (who is cat quick) once.
He is fun to watch block, I really mean that.

Great draft...too bad Ryan and Powell got hurt. Robertson is huge.

Are you sure those aren't Brodie Croyle highlights? The quarterback looks awfully good.
On a serious note, thanks for the post. Made me feel good watching it.

So I can't sleep. Freaking still all jacked up after that game.
Cutler looked incredible, Eddie Royal looks like a stud - the offensive line stepped up big time. All this from a little choppy/fuzzy computer window - can't wait for the replay tomorrow!

Clady is looking really good. I mean he has shown he's a rookie on a few plays but i have not seen him just get punked at the LOS and look like a typical rookie. He is looking like a stud LT. Also i haven't seen the same move work on him more than once. Mario Williams got by him last week on a bull rush and an inside move, but he recovers great and those moves didn't get past him again.
Finally, no longer need to worry about Jay having a short career due to injury from getting blindsided. Hopefully Clady has that locked down for the next 10 years at least.

You know, I give this staff credit but you are only as good as the stuff you put out on the field. Shame on Shanahan for sending Pears out there for as long as he did. The guy was like a swinging gate. It was sort of the same way in 2004-05 when we paraded Herndon and Lenny Walls out at CB. A couple head bashings later, we learned a lesson the hard way.
We're only going to go as far as Cutler takes us so we better get him some weapons so he makes us looks better. So far, so good. ;)

Good pass protection in those plays showcased for our QBs to make plays.

He got beat a few times last night but Cutler still made the play. But both our early picks are still green in a few areas. That's to be expected though.

We also have Green Bay and Arizona for our last two games. Solid defensive lines across the board.
Houston gave the OL a crash course about dealing with a superstar like Mario Williams. Some struggles, but overall not horrible.
Yesterday's game was a crash course on the 3-4, very much like what we'll face from SD with Ware taking the place of Merriman and all. The OL looked pretty good last night.
Next week we face Green Bay and their more traditional 4-3 that has strong starting linebackers. It'll be a nice test to see our OL handling their assignments while facing their very versatile front seven. Of particular interest will be Harris v. Kampman, and Clady handling the change of styles Jenkins and KGB will pose for him.
The last week we face AZ who is playing something totally different now, with a hybrid 3-4/4-3, but they have a lot of talent in the front seven and we'll be facing it after they've had plenty of time to practice. Should help teach the guys discipline so that they don't break down mentally when they don't recognize what they're facing, though I think it will be very similar to what SD does with their 3-4, almost always having an OLB on the line so that in reality it plays like a 4-3 with a spread wide DE coming off either end.
Good trial by fire heading into the season.

That choppy fuzzy computer window doesn't really allow me to grade the offensive line. I'm really looking forward to the replay, but just the fact that Cutler has 0 sacks through 2 preseason games is very, very encouraging.

It was Andre Ware doing the damage.

Ware beat Clady twice on the Cutler highlight video I just watched. Only one time was it bad. However, Cutler got the ball out quickly and accurately. For the most part Clady schmown'd Ware, though.

It was worse the first day in practice. Ware is just a great player and great players will beat you sometimes - especially if you're a rookie. It's all been great training for Clady. First Mario Williams, then Demarcus Ware. Ware was especially good because he got to practice against him so he got more reps than other rookie tackles would get. The packers are more a run stuffing team than elite pass rushers, so the next game he'll get something of a reprieve, but he'll play for longer. Should be a good next step.
