apparently the Cowboys are tired of getting their lunch handed to them, so Flozell Adams attacked Marcus Thomas. A melee ensued...

Surprised a vet like Adams would lose it so badly and "swing the helmet like a club." Thomas must really be kicking his ass. Hopefully it carries over to Saturday and throughout the season. Denver is counting on him greatly.

Not at all. There are a few reasons.

Adams is a very good player and that Marcus has been repeatedly making plays on them suggests we have not just someone who doesn't suck, but a very good player at DT.
We caused the fight by beating them, not the reverse. In the make believe land of e-peens and fish stories, this makes us more right.
Our defensive line showed some nasty. Imagine that.

I heard Marcus is getting tired of kicking the **** out of 3 pro-bowlers and is going to start terrorizing the all decade team.

Woah I'm all for training camp scuffles, but I don't wanna see Thomas bludgeoned with no helmet on, that's crossing into dangerous territory. Luckily it was Slowzell, he's probably still mid-swing.

From the Dallas blog:

Flozell Adams was throwing guys down during the 9-on-7 inside drill. Then, the big tackle sparked a fracas during the 11-on-11 drills. Mike Jefferson was making nice catches. The Cowboys' fullbacks were having a heck of a timing beating up on people, too.

"I don't think Dallas was used to that type of practice," Broncos cornerback Dre Bly said. "We hit. Those guys finished 13-3 last year, so they probably can afford to relax in practice and coast through certain drills. Us, we went 7-9, so we're on teh ground right now and we're trying to get back up that hill."

He conveniently left out anything about getting schooled by a 2nd year fourth round pick. Marcus Thomas needs a mutha ****ing nickname.

Now the DB.com blog weighs in:

The next play the Cowboys let their frustrations on the offensive side of the ball boil over. Marcus Thomas was applying pressure on the quarterback allowing Ebenezer Ekuban to get to Romo. Thomas and Cowboys tackle Flozell Adams got into a pushing match that escaladed when Adams ripped off Thomas’ helmet and swung it towards Thomas’ head. Both teams got caught up in the scuffle some shoves and words were exchanged but cooler heads prevailed. Nate Webster made sure that the Cowboys were reminded of their frustrations yelling “defense” as the teams seperated. A few plays later Webster literally reminded the Cowboys of their offensive stuggles laying a devistating hit on a Cowboys receiver as he attempted to make a grab along the sideline.

It was bush league on the part of Flozell. Ripping Thomas' helmet off and then swinging it at him. We all thought Flozell should have been booted from practice! Luckily he didn't connect!

This is such encouraging and good news.
I was very wary of the scrimmage with DAL, and thought it would be a "reality check" for alot of us possibly, but i am very glad our players are showing their true potential and talent and are not intimidated by anyone.
As a matter of fact, they are apparently the one intimidating the cowgirls!
Of all the off season stuff so far, this info is giving me the impression that
10-6 is a real possibility.

COWBOYS, BRONCOS GET PHYSICAL AT JOINT PRACTICE (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/14/cowboys-broncos-get-physical-at-joint-practice/)

The Dallas Cowboys (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#) and Denver Broncos are practicing together this week, and the teams aren’t exactly displaying great sportsmanship.
First Cowboys cornerback Pacman Jones had some critical comments (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/13/pacman-slams-marshall/) for Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall (only to have Marshall get the best of him on the field (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/14/brandon-gets-better-of-pacman/)), and now reports out of this morning’s practice indicate that the teams got a little more physical than usual for an August practice.
The Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys offensive tackle Flozell Adams “was throwing guys down during the 9-on-7 inside drill.” Then Adams “sparked a fracas (http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/08/delayed-in-denver-iii-fight-fight-fight.html)” during the 11-on-11 drills, and the Cowboys’ fullbacks were “having a heck of a timing beating up on people.”
But Broncos cornerback Dre Bly suggested afterward that it was the Cowboys who were the ones taken aback by the way the Broncos took it to them.
“I don’t think Dallas was used to that type of practice,” Bly said. “We hit. Those guys finished 13-3 last year, so they probably can afford to relax in practice and coast through certain drills. Us, we went 7-9, so we’re on the ground right now and we’re trying to get back up that hill.”
Although it doesn’t sound like it turned into a Will Allen-style beat down (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/14/brawl-breaks-out-at-dolphins-camp/), it does sound like the Cowboys and Broncos gave the folks from HBO plenty of material for next week’s installment of Hard Knocks.

Several things:
1) I'm glad Adams was "throwing guys down" on a cute 9 on 7 drill, but gets lit up when we actually play a real 11 on 11 scrimmage. Good to know if both teams accidentally forget it's 11 on 11 and only have 9 and 7 players on the field we're SCREWED
2) It's good to hear we're getting a rush, I just hope it's not cuz Dallas's Oline wasn't trying very hard during practice. We'll see for sure Saturday! :D

If the Cowboys weren't "trying very hard" in practice, they won't play well in the games. You play how you practice. It is universally true.

Yeah, we'll just see. But i am optimistic simply because they look like they are very intense, and more so, D-Rob and MThomas are playing from all accounts really well.
That is just huge to me.
