Is there left-wing bias in the media?

The United States military in Iraq recently removed more than 500 metric tons of yellowcake uranium from that country. (You know - yellowcake, the stuff that Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame said didn't exist.)

Early in the war, American forces found squadrons of fighter planes buried in the sands of Iraq and, within the week, seven full-sized luxury automobiles were also discovered buried in the sand. They used to belong to one of Saddam Hussein's sons. Iran recently launched nine missiles capable of hitting most of the major capitals of that area of the world. Iran has purchased and sought to purchase thousands of centrifuges designed to refine yellowcake into weapons-grade material.

Have you heard anything about that from the dominant mass media?

What you have heard is the daily vilification of George Bush and the tired mantra of the left about WMD. Thank God he stayed to finish the job and remove the threat.

Thank God we have a president with a brain and the seasoning to know that things are seldom as they seem in this world. God save us if we elect the next president on the basis of the propaganda spewed forth by the media.

Thank God. Now there are only a 100 or so countries left in the world with the "intent and ability" to develop weapons of mass destruction.

For your information the IAEA based in Vienna was able to debunk (prove false) Bush's claim that the yellowcake came from Africa.

The lie was so transparent the IAEA disproved it with a few simple Google searches. This took all of about 15 minutes.

It was a planted story. Pure and simple. Phoney information -- disinfo. I still am not clear about who started it. But it was a lie.

It is very likely that any yellowcake found in Iraq had been there for many years -- a holdover from the days in the late 1980s when Saddam really and truly did have a nuclear weapons program. But that program was deconstructed during the 1990s by the UNSCOM inspectors led by Scott Ritter.

The UNSCOM team destroyed lots of missiles, calutrons, and various kinds of nuclear hardware. They also found the records of Saddam's military programs and were actually abe to document the fact that they deconstructed 95% of it.

It is possible they missed a stash of yellowcake. But this yellowcake was NOT part of a new resuscitated bomb program. There was no bomb program. The US bombed and surveilled the nation of Iraq almost continuously from the time of the 1991 war until we re invaded in 2003.

You questioned whether it was in the dominant mass media. The link to the thread I posted has the article from the Associated Press, a dominant mass media on July 5th, about a month ago.

From the article:

Israeli warplanes bombed a reactor project at the site in 1981. Later, U.N. inspectors documented and safeguarded the yellowcake, which had been stored in aging drums and containers since before the 1991 Gulf War. There was no evidence of any yellowcake dating from after 1991, the official said.

Saddam didn't have two brain cells to accomplish all that Bush made everyone believe he would. Put his and Bush's two brain cells together and you have the debacle in the Middle East we are now involved in. Yeah, let's get into a war because of something someone "might" do. How many countries could we have done that with besides Iraq? A lot. I guess we should be thankful Bush had an agenda with Iraq. It could have been worse.

Again, I marvel at your last statement in the opening post. I've shown it to friends. They thought you were an extinct species. Anyway, we all hoped you were. Hopefully if there are more, they are held in check until after this election.
