Denver adds another Washington State DB
August 12, 2008 12:52 PM
Posted by ESPN.com's Bill Williamson
The Broncos made a roster move Tuesday morning, switching out cornerbacks.
In is Wale Dada. Out is Lamont Reid. Dada was cut by New Orleans on Saturday. Dada has also been with the Jets and the Seahawks.
Perhaps this will be the spot where Dada will flourish. He will certainly be comfortable. Dada is now the third Denver defensive back who entered the league from Washington State in recent years. He joins cornerback Karl Paymah and Hamza Abdullah in Denver, who entered the league in 2005. Dada joined his Cougars' defensive back mates in the NFL the following year.
Only Paymah was drafted by Denver. Abdullah was drafted by Tampa Bay but he was cut and signed by Denver in his rookie year.

Reid isn't the CB who jacked up Rosenfels is he? I figured he should get an honorary roster spot for at least a few weeks.

It was Christian Morton that layed the smack down on Rosenfels..

OH! CHRISTIAN Morton! I saw the C Morton thing, and the first thing I said to myself was, "Man, I hope I'm in good enough shape to do something like that when I'm in my 60s." I thought maybe ol' number seven (no, older than that ol' number seven) had staged a comeback.
I wonder if this means they will be moving Bly to FB so they can try Larsen at LB with Boss being out.

Why pickup yet another db when we are what I consider thin at LB?
With Boss out we are now down to scrubbs at MLB and SAM, yet we now have a ton of guys in the backfield...WTF?

There were some other plays where Morton was lost but I do like how he stick his nose into the ball carrier when he tackles. He does seem like he flys around the field which could get him noticed.
There are about 4-5 worthless veteran players on this team we could cut anyways so I'm sure some of these young unknowns might make the squad somehow. Morton is a long shot though.

Boss is pretty much a scrub also if you factor in how many games he has missed, along with the ones he played poorly in.

I agree, which makes me even more pissed that they are not bringing in even more guys at LB for a look.

WRONG!!! He was signed off Tamp's practice squad and the kicker was Kyle Shanahan was on the Bucs staff at the time and told his dad (Mike) that this guy is a very good player. Well Dad (Mike) not ever looking a gift horse in the mouth went and signed him right off of Tamps's practice squad and onto Denver's active roster.

Rumors have to start somewhere right?

I heard they are moving Cutler but in order for anyone to take him they had to include Champ. The team is obviously content with Ramsey and we all BroncoBuff an apology.

dude where did you come from? IMO the fact these other fans are trying to tell me Niko/Webster/Boss are up to Bronco standards makes me wonder if they are really Bronco fans. Those dudes are outright scrubs and wouldn't start on any of the good Bronco teams in the past.
We need better if we are going to challenge in the AFC west.
IMO we only signed Boss because of Champ. Broncos are probably worried Champ is going to get antsy soon if we don't get to Superbowl. They don't want the only star on defense to get burnt out. If giving away some money to Boss to keep CHamp happy was the deal then it probably was worth the money.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't draft some linebackers.
