You can throw that out the instant you see Torrain still ahead of people on the chart. Obviously nobody updated it or put any effort into it.

So DJack is off the depth chart all together? Am I dyslexic? Ramsey is ahead of Hackney? Wasn't any of the coaching staff watching the game?

I think the injuries at FB gave him a new opportunity.
3 things that stood out to me
1. Ramsey still at #2, yeah I know leadership, blah blah blah, experience, blah blah blah, mentor....my ass, he sucks at the moment.
2. Graham over Scheff? Mmmkay.
3. Boss and Green still #1 and #2....maybe I just don't get how it works

A couple of things that are interesting.
Holland's behind Kuper. Will it last? A guard can play with a club-hand but it's much harder for a tackle. I wonder if they'll move Kuper over to tackle or if Holland claws his way back into the lineup.
Polumbus is still second team. I hope he makes the team. He's a mamoth.
No change on the punters (am I the only one who cares about this?)
Royal is back as the number three. He looked pretty rookie-ish Saturday.
No changes on defense. Will it last?

I wish Hillis could get healthy enough to play. I would really like to see him get involved this preseason.

Telluride, you're just going to have to turn the page on that realize it's a hole that won't be fixed until next year in the draft. This last class was weak for linebackers but the good news is this coming class has a lot of safeties and linebackers. We're just going to have to deal with the team being average on defense.

when you have a franchise QB being protected by 2 raw OT you put your best TE at number 1. Not your best catching TE. YOUR BEST ALL AROUND TE. Its not rocket science.

Yep, you're right. It's all just residual angst over our not getting Patrick Willis last year. (Man, I really wanted him.)
Anyway, if the DL steps it up and Niko plays competently (and Boss stays healthy) I suppose we'll muddle through. I kinda would like to see what would happen if we just rolled the dice and stuck Woodyard in the line-up, though.

Don't they usually put injured guys in italics and put them at the bottom of the depth chart?

It's kind of irrelevant anyway since both will play a ton barring injury.

There was no way. We would have had to trade up to the tenth pick, though in hind sight it might have been worth it. If Moss and Crowder both don't pan out, it's a deal we should have made.

The Moss and Crowder picks alone probably wouldn't have done it. More ammo (not to mention cap space) would've been needed.

The 1st string D I'd like Shanny to play for evaluation is as follows:
DL : Crowder, Robertson, Thomas, Moss
LB : Boss, Niko, DJ
S : Champ, Barrett, Abdullah, Foxy
I just want to see this group work together on 1st & 2nd downs at least. The problem I saw with the first pre-season game was just watching individuals and generally those that show promise but aren't quite there have to play with a bunch of scrubs. Give those that we want to see step up their chance now. Its no secret either, this is the way I want the team to be, with Doom coming in on 3rd downs (I dont think I'll ever be sold that he belongs out there on run plays).
Basically, I wanna see some 2nd & 3rd stringers play with the 1st stringers in game situations and watch them crash & burn or play wonderfully.

Very valid point.
Rabb I wasn't coming after you its just there has been a slew of Graham haters based on his not being Shannon Sharpe or even Scheffler when it comes to catching. But he is a great safety for Jay.

You'd have to think Polumbus is a lock for the practice squad at least. Could we have another Lepsis on our hands? A slightly underpowered big guy (though obviously much bigger than Lepsis even in his dreams) from Colorado, groomed and beefed up to emerge in one or two years as a top-level OT?
As a side note, I rode in an elevator with Polumbus at the Omni hotel before one of the Buffs games last year. He looked to me then like he still had plenty of room to fill out. The guy could probably play at 320-330.

They do use him more. To block on run downs, and protect our rocket armed QB from being pancaked. Something Sheffler just cannot be trusted to do yet.
Cutlers the franchise man.

What are you tryin to say? Yea or nay?
Leaning towards "nay". They'd be REALLY thin at DE without Moss and Crowder right now. And it also depends on what the additional compensation would've been. Another low draft pick? Obviously no big deal. But if it was a pick they needed to move up for Marcus Thomas. No way.
I just don't like the idea of selling out for a LBer and further neglecting the Dline. Been there; done that. It's way too early to close the door on these two young DEs. Just ask the Texans about that.

I think that depth chart was extremely foreseeable.
Going with that chart, a few of the conclusions we can make are:
Dylan Gandy will make the roster over Kory Lichtensteiger
Chad Mustard will remain on PUP
Michael Pittman will be cut
Aldridge will make the roster
Kolbert will fight Woodyard in a cage match in Shanahans new house for the 53rd roster spot
Steven Harris goes back to PS
Josh Barrett will make the roster, but will utter no profanity unlike Jack Williams who will also make the roster

Oh my Gawd!
WHAT IS SHANAHAN WATCHING?!
DOESN'T HE READ THE ORANGEMANE?!
You guys should call Shanahan and talk to him, or cross the rope line and inform him ... you really should. He needs your insights because he's just not thinking straight.

DJack is #2 WR...look again
D-Jack will be moving over to BMarsh's Split-End position for the first two games. That's why Royal started at the Flanker spot. When the regular season starts, D-Jack will be the #2, IMO.
