Chris LeDeux is classic ... Garth Brooks mentioned him in the lyrics to "Much Too Young."

Garth also wrote "Good ride, cowboy" as a dedication to Ledoux when he died. Ledoux had some awesome songs, many of them forgotten, unfortunately. Nothing like a good "This Cowboy's Hat" or "Bareback Jack" for a car ride.

me and the wife knew leDoux ...... he was real genuine .......... he shopped local stores , bought his clothes and boots off the same rack as a blue collar guy like me ......

An old friend of mine at a radio station booked Ledoux for a concert....now he had done this several times and had gotten used to strange requests from bands, i.e. a jar of only green m&m's, water chilled to 52 degrees, ect, ect...
Ledoux had no such requests in his contract and when they showed up, my buddy asked him if he needed anything. All he wanted was 5 large pizzas and a case of Coors for the band. He would go out and buy his own dinner - he said he was getting paid enough, he didn't want anyone buying him food.

That breed of man is gone...
Possibly that's the allure of his music, he was purely genuine.
His kids are here going to school. Good kids too.
