I know that I Tivo "NFL Live" every single day ... but I haven't seen a single mention of Rod Smith's retirement or the John Lynch thing. Are they ignoring both these events?
And do NOT mention NFL Network in reply

If Rod was in NE Indy or Dallas he would get press but, not here. It's a darn shame he desrves to be honored. ATH and PTI has not either.
I think we should email ESPN about it. I already tried PTI but, figure we would need alot more fans to do it.

Didnt you hear that Tom Brady took the fiercest of dumps this morning? I mean it was an all out exertional effort. Thank god ESPN had the NFL live crew all over that. Im sure Trey Wingo was first in line with the toilet paper too.

I used to hate it and think it was annoying but I gave up on espn awhile ago. IF Jabbar Gaffney retired they'd probably open their shows with it. :D

NFL Live was broadcasting from Charger's training camp yesterday and spent the first 27.5 minutes of the show yapping about Brett Favre's child-like enthusiasm.

Every time i watch NFL live they have something to say about Favre...hell, they even have a tab dedicated to just favre down on the ticker at the bottom of the screen...it was ok for a first few days but its just flat out annoying at this point..just get the **** done and over with already...i haven't heard them say a word about the Broncos, not even the Marshall situation...**** ESPN!!

This is the main reason we get screwed in HOF voting. No Press. They did at least mention Lynch retiring, in regards to how Brett Favre blah blah blah.

Half the people who work at E!SPN are from New England. Perhaps you remember the Hank Steinbrenner quote? With that in mind, it should come as little surprise that E!SPN conveniently chooses to ignore the Broncos. 1) The Broncos are a sore spot for Pats fans given our success against them and 2) E!SPN totally throws due diligence out the window when it comes to sucking up to major markets. I live in Chicago and they often will focus on sports in Chicago but the thing is, many people here hate E!SPN just like in other places. E!SPN, is little more than a regional network and beyond that its a suckup to what it would like to assign as cache...and since the Broncos have had so much success against NE and also because they are a smaller market, E!SPN chooses to assign the Broncos little cache.

Well part of it is that Rod Smith didn't play a down last year. If he had done this after the 2006 season, after successfully playing a whole season, this would get much more coverage. But after week 6, when he was shifted from the PUP list to IR, this was inevitable. So its just not that big of a deal to the media. At least not in hte "breaking story" kind of way.

This is exactly it IMO. I've mentioned it to more than a few people around here who are big NFL fans and their replies were all the same....."oh, I thought he retired last year."

Just saw the little tidbit they did with Lindsay Jones today on First Take.
Lindsay was really nervous(I'm assuming because she repeated herself a lot).
But it was basically what we know.
Talked about the DL and hoping the rookies last year make a difference this year.
Talked about Cutler and him entering his 3rd year, expecting big things from him. Also the DIABEETUS.
Talked that the team thinks its a playoff team this year.

Wait wait wait ... I didn't say I CARE what they say, I'd just like to see a little snippet of Rod and John on my big stupid TV rather than a little stupid streaming box. Is that too much to ask of a daily program caled "NFL Live"? Two borderline Hall-of-Famers retire/near retire, and ... nothing?
I do have a question about NFL Live though: they have a 30-minute version each day at 1 pm Pacific - which I Tivo - and then a 20-minute version at 9:30 pm. That 20 minute show is just an edited version of the earlier one, right?

Entertainment Sports Network only cares about sports media "stars".....flavor clowns and showmen. It's a big reason why some (mostly young) fans ache for those types of players to be on the Broncos roster (it means extra coverage). "Is it too much to ask?" you ask....sorry Buff, but the fact is that even with Marshall's exploits, the Broncos are just not interesting enough to ESPN's tastemakers to warrant more than a blurb here and there.........boo frickin' hoo.

ESPN talks about 5-6 teams, and that's about it. With this Farve thing, that's pretty much all they are talking about. Fans across the league can make this same complaint.

NFL:
Pats, Giants, Jets, Packers and Cowboys primarily with some Chargers/Colts
MLB:
Yanks, Mets, Red Sox, Cubs primarily
other 2 sports I don't care for
They ALWAYS favor the East Coast. I mean, as much as I hate them, Chargers don't get near as much coverage as they should. Heck, I'm hearing more about Pacman than I am about Peyton Manning's injury.
This is what I hate about ESPN, the bias they do with their coverage. I really dislike the direction they are going to, introducing crap stuff that ruins a lot, for instance declaring Valdosta, GA Titletown, USA, removing it from Green Bay. Remember the "Who's Now?" crap? Yeah....that was horrible.

Yeah, NFL Live has been "All Brett Favre, All The Time" the past couple weeks, although at least in these circumstances it's kinda warranted.
Yesterday the were doing the Chugs and Philip Rivers declined to apologize or even acknowledge his punk-ass behavior with Cutler last year ... he said his teammates' feedback was "positive." :oyvey:
I joke about this NFL Network thing, but GAWD I MISS IT!! Housh is right, ESPN is really nausea-inducing anymore ... their draft coverage was putrid ...

As a guy who lived in Denver for a few years I feel your pain. BSPN rarely has anything to say outside of the favorites and/or the Dallas Cowboys.
However, as a Giants fan, it seems that the only things BSPN ever says about the Giants is negative. This whole offseason I've heard "fluke" and "luck" more than I can count and for those talking heads, when Shockey was a Giant he hurt the team with his antics and now that he's gone, he's going to be sorely missed. They need to make up their mind!!
Dallas however? Greatest thing ever, at least according to those morons.
I wish they would just go away. For good.

I hate that obviously some teams are talked about all the time while some aren't but you do also have to look at the markets they are catering to. Most of their viewers are coming from the Northeast, Chicago, and LA so they are going to do more stories on them.
Espn is now just a bandwagon company if the Broncos start winning 13 game a year and going deep in the playoffs every year like the Colts and Patriots do then there will be more coverage. Plus as well all know they like personalities and catch phrases a lot more than actual game play. Guy like Rod, Champ, Lynch(before recently) were the big names on the team but they were football players and strictly that, they weren't a Chad Johnson or a Deion Sanders so according to Espn there is nothing to report in Denver.

I would rather be a fluke or a lucky Super Bowl Winning team than an 18-1 loser any time. Great Super Bowl and an excellent win.

**** NFLN! AND **** ESPN!
I only watch ESPN for football highlights during the season or to watch a game.
I have not watched ESPN since the draft. I also just canceled the sports tier on my cable subscription. It had about 6 or seven sports channels, but I just don't have the time to watch most of them. I mostly had it for the NFLN anyway, and they pretty much stink.
These 2 networks don't do **** for Broncos coverage. I don't want Cowgirls or fudge packers coverage. I want Broncos coverage man. **** you trey wingo!
