Compare this to how Green Bay handled Favre. Lynch may end up in San Diego, that didn't stop the Broncos from releasing him.

So, the Mike Bell jerseys are on clearance on denverbroncos.com for $10. How long before the Lynches go on sale?

Thanks for posting this. It really puts the Packer's situation in perspective. You compare how both organizations handled this it's night and day.

While you certainly have a point, I think it's pretty insane to compare the two situations. Favre primarily wants to go to a divisional rival. He would be a huge asset to whomever it is that he'd join. He's been the face of the franchise, a first-ballot HOFer, one of the best QBs of all time, and ultimately, sending him to another team would be forever remembered as one of the bigger "**** You"s ever sent to a fan-base(the very same one that owns the team). They have a QB that they like who is probably getting pissed off sitting all this time, and might take off as a Free Agent. Meanwhile, with Lynch, he's been with the Broncos for a shorter time than he was with the Buccs. His play is greatly declining, and the Broncos have no reason to force him to stay, as I'm sure that Shanahan was considering cutting him, and this, ultimately, allows Shanahan a graceful, respectful way out. Not to mention the fact that Favre also wants to return to the team, after he said he wouldn't be returning. Like I said, you have a good point, and the Broncos have acted with nothing but class here, and the Packers have acted like total dickweeds, but drawing the direct comparison doesn't work for me.

Probably one of my favorite players to watch, even when he was with tampa. Actually is likely up there in my favorite Broncos of all time, even though he only played 4 seasons.

I don't often praise Shanahan (in fact, I'm not sure if I ever have) but he has shown a great deal of class in handling this situation.

Ted Thompson would be best off taking notes.

Great man, great player, we were very fortunate to have had Lynch's talents on and off the field for the past 4 years.

My guess is he's holding out hope for San Diego... He has a home there, his parents live there and it wouldn't be a huge undertaking for his family. I'd be surprised if he signed anywhere other than the Chargers. It sucks it's a division rival but it is what it is... The Broncos coaches no longer felt he was an every down safety. I don't blame him one bit for wanting more...

I do agree Kaylore that Shanahan and Bowlen handled it well knowing full well that he could end up with the Chargers...

Regardless, I am bummed to think that Al Wilson, Rod Smith and now John Lynch are gone. John had an impact that stretches beyond the field and it WILL be missed!!!

It's time for the younger players to step up and be the voice out there!
